Re: Best GPS Software for TP2

I think I would like to buy Igo8 but is the only way to buy it is to get the SD card? Is there a pay and download version of it?

Re: Best GPS Software for TP2

I LOVE Igo8. Used it today for fun with my new car mount. I can't wait for the next time I have to go somewhere I don't know how to get to.

If this response is inappropriate, I apologize...

The program is available on a 2G, 4G, or 8G card. Not enough memory for most of us. Could you buy the 2G "official" card, then use a "cracked" version of this same software (for which you have purchased the rights to use) but put it on your own card? Would this allow the purchaser to have customer support from the publisher (latest maps, etc.)? After all, who really wants to have to swap SD cards every time you want to use the GPS navigation function?

I see iGo8 now officially supports WVGA and TTS out of the box....

It looks like it also comes in SD cards only. But the list of features look very good.

Looks like iGuidance also provides for finding contacts via Outlook entries. Nice! People have been asking about that feature for iGo8.

If I recall correctly, iGuidance, iGo8, and others all use the same basic engine, just different user interfaces and feature sets. Can anyone confirm this? Also, iGuidance doesn't appear to currently support WVGA. Anyone have a patch for that?

Re: Best GPS Software for TP2

On my old Universal, I had iGuidance and liked it. On my TP2, I went to Co-Pilot because of the mandatory sd card. I use a 16GB card and I don't want to be forced to use their card. I wish these companies would find a better was to protect their software.

I just purchased a download version of Co-pilot. It's still on sale for $19.99. Not bad.

EDIT: Please read entire thread before deciding to purchase. Some street names do not come up on Co-pilot 8.

Re: Best GPS Software for TP2

being a gps noob this may be a stupid question but why purchase programs when we have Bing and Google maps which sit on the phone for free? What r the advantages of these other programs like Co-pilot?
