Dropping Sprint

I am done! I have tried and tried to love the Touch Pro 2 on Sprint. I barely get 1-2 bars and 1X none the less. I talked them into selling me an Airave for $1.05. This is still allowing me to drop calls. I heard US Cellular is giving away all cell phones free this Friday to Monday. My question is, how would the tethering differ on US Cellular? I know they are very hardcore about not wanting you to do it without the plan, but I figured we have a secure work around for this. On the other hand we just had a verizon store open. The US Cellular speed tests show in my area we can get 3MB down 1MB up, and for me this is OUTSTANDING.

Can anyone give my advice Verizon or US Cellular?

Check your coverage areas. Also, check where you're trying to use your phone. Verizon may not be any better. Nor are you guaranteed coverage everywhere. It could be you just happen to be in zones where the towers cannot reach you.

Switch to AT&T
Then when you go back to Sprint you'll really appreciate them :)

I agree cdma tends to behave exactly the same from all carriers. because they often use the exact same towers.

generally 1-2 bars is fine on cdma. Gosh I rarely ever get a dropped call.

if phone is critical you might try locking it in 1x mode for stability.

Thanks guys, I do appreciate what I can get out of my bars. At work my co workers are rocking the Touch Pros and Touch Pro 2's. They are sitting there with EVDO and I am the butt end of their sick jokes. ha! Anyway, I figure I can always try US Cellular and go back. Not a big deal, just looking at my options and what's best for me!

Thanks!

Are they with the same carrier?

I as well just recently gave a thought to dropping Sprint during the purchase of my TP2. After pricing my Everything Data Share Plan with other carriers, I was very shocked. I wasn't too concerned with paying more, but I could not justify paying as much as the other carriers wanted for the same service just to leave Sprint.

Id try USC 1st before csncelling, and possibly paying a deact fee and act fee when you start up again. Im sure they have a 14 or 30 trial period. Id keep both, if USC works out, port your number and drop Sprint

Coverage area is your problem. If Sprint has no positive coverage for your device in Iowa, I would move to another carrier that can provide some Bars.
