I went to US Cellular today to get my girlfriend a new phone and saw a TP2 there up for sale...yeah its got 6.5 on it. Or is this old news that I somehow missed? How does this carrier get 6.5 before Sprint... lame.

Anyone out there able to rip the ROM from it?

New... ROM Date is 10/16/09... That means they had it in dev for aboiut 2weeks, damn we couldve found a leak somewhere... Nonetheless Im sure HTC will have the download available soon.

Oh and its on Radio 2.18.00 USC!

It had a bunch of cool apps, I only got to play with it for a few minutes... long enough to get the pictures.

YEah... Most people know. The drivers used in alot of ROMS are from this exact device. But good find on the pics and everything. Hopefully Sprint will get theirs soon.

I would choose stock over a rom because if something happens and your phone dies with a rom on it and some how they bring it back to life at the store, the warranty is done. I have been wondering why the imagio has 6.5 and we don't.

ull need to do it via active sync and it takes 20 min

have you done this before?

i can make you a batch file and a cab you will have to install on it first to security unlock the OS to dump it.

u dont need to unlock it. its a reg edit to unlock the OS so active sync can read it.

a hard reset will set it back to normal.

Thats not the carrier specific update, the update they're talking about is GSM and out already. I know Sprints wont be until January, possibly February

My girl has an account... I suppose I can try this method.. although we bought her a new phone today, wonder what how they go about letting you test run a phone... I've never done that with them.

How about Activesync via bluetooth? It may be a bit suspicious - you checking out the phone for 30 min, but a buddy can be outside with a laptop, and you could sync it via bluetooth. Just an idea, although not a very practical one. :)

is anybody else not really interested in the 6.5 update? the changes are mainly graphical and minor. the only thing id be interested in is getting the weather in my clock on the today screen

Well there are also updated, official Rhodium drivers that us chefs can use. Right now, most are using the USC test rom's drivers which get the job done, but it would be nice to have the final version instead for 6.5.

6.5 is outdated already, i am using 6.5.1 (23506) with 6.1 drivers for last two weeks, i have not found any problems so far and i have tried going back to 6.5 but i cant stand 6.5 anymore.

In 23506, do you have the problem where in text messages, after sliding the keyboard out and back in, the screen doesn't change back to portrait mode?

Edit - I can also never remember, are changes in 235xx branches ported back to 230xx branch, or vice versa?
