Sprint MMS setup for Juicy R3 with HTC messaging
3 Attachment(s)
UPDATE 11/17/09
I have included the Arcsoft and Registry editor cabs. You can use the SprintMMS zip attached to replace steps 2 and 3 in this process. It sets up the server and changes the wap sizes. Thanks to AstronusX for sharing the file. You still need registry editor to import them into the registry. Bug: The messages are not threaded so they start taking up some space in your inbox making them a little time consuming to go through. If anyone has a way to make them threaded please let me know. Other than that, this method has been proven to work by multiple users. If it doesn't work for you, you probably did something wrong. 1. download Arcsoft 5 0 94 128c 2. set up the settings for the sprint server
4. You can now send without a problem two different ways.
It has been tested by me on 2 different touch pro 2's for send and receive and by others in the Juicy rom thread. Hope this clarifies some confusion for people on Juicy R3. |

Does anyone know of a good registry editor to use with these custom ROM's?
Thanks, Tony |
Re: Sprint MMS setup for Juicy R3 with HTC messaging
I do not see an HKLM under my device in registry. Only HKEY folders. How do I edit the registry?

Did you see 4 wap settings to modify under your server name in registry? I just saw an empty folder unless I am missing something

It does work, he walked me through the setup this afternoon and I was able to send out a mms. You can use total commander or resco file explorer.
@tsantacruz the 4 wap settings are there. I'll check and see if I can get some screen shots, hopefully i can find my mymobiler app make sure you setup your account first in the settings under the mail account. Also you should have a HKLM, if not i think something might be wrong. Any windows pc has a HKLM folder in the registry.....try checking again...if its not there then I don't know  |
Re: Sprint MMS setup for Juicy R3 with HTC messaging
I posted this in Juicys thread...bottom line, it works for me without the tweaks...but only through the inbox:
I can't get MMS to work through the Manilla tab (although SMS works fine)...but if I take a picture, and send it via sms/mms...it goes through fine. The problem is it goes though the inbox-"email" sms/mms MS server (not manilla), but it works...the same is true for pictures stored on my device; using the same method...the main issue is...I don;t get a notification?? even though it appears to be set up (still working that part)...my point of thei post is... It works out of the box for me this way, without any other mods...Just Juicy R3 |
Re: Sprint MMS setup for Juicy R3 with HTC messaging
Thanks for your help. When I go into registry and HKLM all the way thru default server which is sampleMMSC on my device, the folder is empty. I cannot see the settings you have in your Total Commander picture. Not sure what i am doing wrong.
Also, under "connect via" I do not see the server name, only a. telus b. cdma1x c. my work internet d. my isp e. work f. secure wap network g. wap network and h. the internet i selected the internet then went to registry and thru hklm all the way to server name and only sampleMMSC is listed which is the name for my default server. |
