Just as I suspected. The old Verizon "easy-out" solution -- exchange your phone. It buys them time and gets you off their back for a while. Nothing fixed.

apparently verizon is aware, they have had htc update the phones. I was informed today that verizon did/is doing a small type of recall sorta. since the phone gets stuck in 1x. Apparently its not just software but hardware as well.

I'm going to go out on a limb here.

I posted in a coupl eother places and got no response on this which was original phone settings before I flashed

Same normal Phone settings for #777

BUT, the other read as follows:

VZWEmbedded
Log on: emsgsm.vzw3g.com
Pass: vzw (I tried our regular password & it worked)

In networking don't select on setup ie just your #777, set it to auto.

Here's my point:

No longer receiving multiple popups for: your device is registering on a voice line

More bars Show up now

Stay in 3g longer and now the phone calls up 3g for when data needs processing and data connection goes live as it should at this point.

Was using engery rom's nov 9 stable, worked with this switch

Now using Energys 6.5.3 28002 rom & working even better.

Running the same radio that came with phone version 1.88.

While i will drop periodically to 1x it does recover on it's own and isn't staying stuck.

Don't want to even look at 1x, update weather lol it works. So I am not to sure it's a hardware issue per say (maybe both who knows) since I have gotten rid of my popups. I'm not a programmer but sounds like a programming issue since it needs the 2nd set of connection strings.

What won't fix the issue is if you are in a bad area with very poor reception. I'm in the middle of a oak grove forest at the bottom of a hill and this is working for me.

Make sure you keep the 3g push in setting on and set to auto

Any thoughts on this?

Yeah, no kidding. At least for me I haven't had to get pissed off trying to convince them of the problem. They are sending me a NEW phone, not refurb, at least.

I should get the phone Monday and I will post the build date. As far as anything being changed, upgraded, or fixed in the phone seems to be who you talk to at VZW. And no details as to what the hell was done.

I actually talked with some executive esculation, due to the problems I was having, they were the ones that brought the 1x issue up, not me. They went in further to tell me how that was effecting customers and thats why the replacement and how they have had short stock

What are you saying? Is Verizon replacing "bad" phones with "fixed" phones? Isn't this the same old "solution" -- replace the phone and get you off their back for a while?

I wonder if you can get any details out of them. What exactly is the problem and how has it been fixed.
This isn't information that they will publicly volunteer. Imagine all the TP2 and Imagio users who have this problem but, don't do anything about it because of the run-around it typically takes when you call in.

I dont think they are just going to offer up info about some imaginary problem (that they dont want to admit) just to 'get me off their backs' for a little while. I didnt solicit any information about 1x problems, I spoke nothing of that. In fact, when they told me of it, I merely responded with uh huh's. Keep in mind that the premise for the contact had nothing to do with the coverage/service of verizon and this was an esculated executive department, not some call center supervisor.

But really all that they said was, there was a problem with local data service in S.F california area and the new phone that would be sent to me by monday would be a Brand New Phone, one with the updated hardware/software for fixing the issue with 1x getting stuck with no 3g.

I see what you mean. Looks like we both get our replacements tomorrow. Lets keep our fingers crossed we have better luck with these "new" TP2s.
