serversman

this is a must have can be downloaded from their website. wwww.serversman.com. this installs a webserver on your phone. What it lets you do is unload and download things to your phone without cables or having to email. Many features not my work but you should check it out. I got it from windows marketplace.

While there are other web servers for Windows Mobile, Free-bit uniquely uses its Emotion Link technology to bypass the NAT layer of the telephone carriers by creating a VPN tunnel directly to your smartphone, meaning your device is always reachable on the same IPv6 IP no matter what network (3G or WIFI) you are on.
By signing up for Serversman you also get a unique Serversman.com/NAME URL which can be passed on to others, allowing easy sharing of the content of your smartphone.
Besides this groundbreaking functionality Serversman also supports gadgets to get access to the features of your smartphone, like accessing the GPS functionality of your device to allow your web page to publish your real-time location, or to upload pictures.
Serversman for the iPhone has also been developed, but while the Windows Mobile version supports all the features of the iPhone, it can also run in the background, unlike the iPhone app.
Free-bit also notes the potential market for its software is much larger on Windows Mobile, which has shipped 50 million so far and 20 million only last year, vs the iPhone’s who’s lifetime sales so far are only 17 million.

I too see absolutely no point to this software.. it's hardly anything new as I can recall at least 4 other products in the last 4 years that do the same..

Can you provide the links to these 4 products? [-X

I can think of tons of uses for this.

yeah, the thought of hosting a website through a cell connection does seem absurd

Obviously you wouldn't permanently host a website on it.

Have you tried this software? It has premade webpages, allows gps tracking, picture sharing, remote upload/download of any files, access to your SDcard.... pretty cool.

Build a site for a customer, throw it up remotely, wow them, sell them, profit.

Or just for the cool factor of hosting a site on your phone?!?

just sayin.

Why is everyone so negative?

I am looking for a small wiki that could be run from here. What I have used it for more than anything is to remotely add and remove cabs from the SD card. Some areto big to email so sendthem this way. You can also share pictures in real time. IE you are somwhere see something you want to share snap the picture text whoever and share via website easy.
