I can think of tons of uses for this.

Sure...

Microsoft's own httpd: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
Sputnik Compact Web Server: http://www.chilisoftware.net/CompactWebServer/
Sphinx Mobile Web: http://www.sphinx-soft.com/MWS/index.html
Cambridge vxWeb: http://www.cam.com/vxweb.html
TinyJava Web Server: http://tjws.sourceforge.net/
ApacheCE Ports: http://www.rainer-keuchel.de/software.html

to name a few ;)

Although the recently hyped webserver does do some funky NAT redirections I still see no value in it. Heck, my TP2 can barely run a web browser - let alone a server!

well it is interesting, and I'm glad it's built on ip6 native. It's really not too different from Live Mesh, unless resource usage is significantly less.
I'm also slightly concerned about privacy, esp with with the latest iseeyou news. It's a new ballgame out there with smartphones for the masses.

btw, this should be in the software forum.

Obviously you wouldn't permanently host a website on it.

Have you tried this software? It has premade webpages, allows gps tracking, picture sharing, remote upload/download of any files, access to your SDcard.... pretty cool.

Build a site for a customer, throw it up remotely, wow them, sell them, profit.

Or just for the cool factor of hosting a site on your phone?!?

just sayin.

Why is everyone so negative?

I apologize for myself in being negative. There are obviously a lot of things people use these phones for, based on what they do, than I have even imagined. I'm getting to be an old fart, I guess. It happens to most of us, eventually lol. It's better than the alternative, if you know what I mean..........
