coming from the sprint apache ....to the mogul , TP and TP2 , with no doubt Sprint TP2 has the lead .......so fast.

people do not like it , because it is the stock ROM. !and by nature ....when we buy a new phone ...what should we do................?

Ah.......flash a custom ROM ! and get rid of the stock !

if it was build by mighty or one of the famous cooks,then everybody will like it and say WAW ..... it will be number one ROM.and they will flash it until the server burns out !

the only weak points in it is the lack of good and nice visual costomizations , and it is all fixable except the animated weather background in the new manila.



I was kidding , mighty ROM , Energy , and juicy are really good ROMs and so beautiful ,especially with the animations and the 3D home look and they are really fast .
I was just thinking about the way we look at STOCK ROMS !

this time stock ROM was different.

I dunno man...
The Sprint stock rom was only "fast" after you added a ton of tweaks and fixes. There are just so many bugs (e.g. ring+vibrate disappears on restart, etc.). On most of the custom roms, these required tweaks/fixes for the stock rom are built right in. Also some roms include as part of the rom a lot of the programs a lot of users considered basic and required (e.g. advanced config or regeditor).
That's even taking into consideration all the visual improvements over stock roms. Although, I must admit that a lot of them can be added to the stock roms manually. I think the Sprint stock rom would be more compelling if Sprint/HTC released some hot fixes for some of the stupid bugs.

wrong forum... but I took stock out becasue I wanted 6.5.1 and using energy photon with manila 2.1 its awesome just wish sprint TV would work

I flashed 70% of the custom ROMs here and non of them runs in the speed I want ...... finally....? guess what I am running right now ?

Tried three roms to only find all of em had bugs and were ridiculously slow.

Flashing back to stock sprint rom today...

only thing i'll miss is wm 6.5 but not worth having the worlds slowest phone...

there have to more people like me who flashed roms just to get customized ones that are supposed to be better, only to realize that this time around they look cooler but are slow as hell.

The Sprint stock is very stable and pretty fast. But after flashing to Mighty's rom on my Sprint Touch Pro2, I'll never go back to Sprints stock rom. Mightys rom is fast, includes all tweaks, programs, and even wifirouter built in. Plus I get 6.5, but theres no doubt about it. Sprints stock rom is really good, just not as good as Mightys, IMO.

I couldn't agree more. As soon as the unlocker was available, I flashed custom and never looked back. Yes you have to be careful as some ROMS are indeed not too stable or are built to be cutting-edge, but if you stick with MightyROM, it addressed virtually every problem and bug with the stock Sprint ROM and runs MUCH faster. I've tested tons of ROMS and this is my experience. Even unlocked and flashed a coworkers phone this week, and he couldn't be more pleased. YMMV, but I would not run stock again (same with my previous Touch Pro).

Anyone want to put together some numbers to validate this claim? I also agree that the stock ROM is one of the best ever for a winmo phone, but i'm not sure that its faster than a Custom ROM (i'm Running JD's Rhodazio ROM).

Any benchmarking programs that are reliable for the TP2?

The stock Verizon ROM was awesome also (just like the Sprint version)

I still would not return to it after going to a custom ROM however. I love the speed, extra features & bug fixes of the custom ROM's + getting rid of the unnecessary garbage that both carriers install is a plus.

WM 6.1 is why I flash away from the stock rom. Those microsoft guys are finally getting the point. One day we can all have a stylus burning party. There are stable fast roms out there. Just try to flash one that is cooked and tested by someone with the same provider as you.

And GoodThings2Life's tweaks all of which keep me happy till Sprint stock 6.5 rom comes out. Having said that I may decide to flash a new rom when that comes out if its not as stable as the stock 6.1rom is. But I'm happy for now.

I prefer the stock rom also, but not being able to change the RSK was 1 of the reasons i flashed to 6.5 and also the weather animation, i prefer a stock rom that is stripped of all the bloatware sprint stuff i dont use, then you can add on what you please.

The stock rom is good, BUT its NOT 6.5. Which is better to me, but its just me , everyone has different taste.

I agree. If you read through my previous posts, I definitely backed up the stock rom, but after flashing around some more and using more of MIghty's roms. I take that statement back

While the stock rom is fast, it is not as stable as Mighty's. The stock rom adds crap that not many people use, while Mighty's actually adds apps that are widely used (Google Maps)

And another plus is that it's 6.5, not 6.1. 6.5 roms have come a long way.

Im all for windows 6.5.... The stock 6.1 is stable and great, but just to ugly...IMO especially going from 2.1 sense to 2.1 pffft..... Boring.......

That said Im on a official 6.5 build, no custom to it.......

I have cooked my own rom from Calkulin's Visual WVGA Kitchen and have tweaked os files to my liking. I am using wmo 6.5 sys 21882 and am using manila sense 2.1. I have zero issues, no bugs, no lockups. Everything works perfect after I worked out all my issues. Now as for 6.1 being quicker, I have no doubt, but I will pass. I rather have the nicer looking ui. If anyone wants a nice cooked stable 6.5 rom, not the beta 6.5.x sys's, I am happy to cook one up for you, from my tweaked Calkulin's kitchen. Just let me know. Finally, my 1000 post. =)

this stock rom is great if you like 6.1 and oldskool tf3d. Now if you want 6.5.x or the new htc sense the stock rom doesn't have that.

I've been trying to get back the Stock Sprint ROM but can't find it anywhere. I know, I must be completely retarded not to find it, but there was usually a link to it in the TP1 forum for the Unlocker but here it was no where to be found.

On topic, MightysROM even says "Stock is key." And that, my friends, is why his is so fast. I've always loved the slider colors on stock rom and to be honest thats really the only reason I want it back , haha!

Stock ROM is definitely VERY good this time around....I was on it until I started experimenting with my own.

I think we have been conditioned from the Mogul days that stock ROM is horrible.

I actually had to use the stock ROM a few days while I waited for support from the Hard-SPL team.

Conclusion. Not as flashy but most everything worked as advertised. It's not as pretty but it still works.
It's also funny what everyone considers junkware... I might be one of the few but I actually like Sprint TV. It comes in handy when you are waiting in line or at the airport and when you don't have NFL network.
Also since when did SprintNav become junkware?

The customs ROMS are nice because most of them are cutting edge and I think that is what attracts people. Manila 2.5 is nice too but I'm waiting for the day when everything works like stock.

You can do the same on the stock rom, you just have to add the application and make the tweeks yourself. For once I'm actually happy with the stock rom Sprint put out. Other than wanting the Sense UI on my Touch Pro 2 I'm totally content waiting for HTC and Sprint to release the WM6.5 update (which is likely to happen within the next four weeks).
