Emails deleting When new emails arrive...

I have a comcast account setup on my TP2 and every time i receive new emails it deletes the old ones. It does not send them to the 'Deleted Items' section. It deletes them completely. I would rather emails stay in the inbox until i decide to delete them. Can someone tell me how to ensure that these read emails are not deleted when new ones arrive?

Web...
I'm not sure that's a function of the mail feature that can be enabled and disabled. I've never heard of such a thing. I went through all the settings on my email account and I don't see where you would turn this feature on or off.
puzzler.

Re: Emails deleting When new emails arrive...

Are you by chance leaving outlook running on a home computer? If so, everytime your email downloads off of the server, when your phone sends/receives it will remove any emails that are not currently on the server.

hope that makes sense.

Re: Emails deleting When new emails arrive...

@ Richards -- yeah i did.

Ultimately what i figured out was that i had Outlook open on my comp and anytime that it did a send/receive it would pull the emails off the server which made the phone not pick them up next time it did a send/receive.

So basically just gotta keep Outlook on my home computer closed when im not there. Pretty simple

This is becuase you use POP, If you can use IMAP, all clients will show the same thing (if u delete from outlook it will delete on web and phone, If u get a new message on ur phone, it will also be on outlook as well is web) You might want to check into setting it up in IMAP if it is available to you, makes life easier.

Re: Emails deleting When new emails arrive...

IMAP is terrible for me on Yahoo. It doesn't save my sent messages, so I tricked it into being POP

You could always configure Outlook on the computer to leave a copy on ther server -either indefinitely or for a certain number of days -if that's what you prefer. You can then also configure your handheld Outlook to either delete them off the server when you delete them from the handheld or leave them there so you can clean them up from Outlook on the computer.
