Telus HSPA Network Live today? Will TP2 World edition work on it?

Title says it all, With Telus HSPA network supposedly going live today, will our TP2 world edition Phones be able to use this network rather than the CDMA network?

I already tried switching to GSM only mode and the only network my phone saw was Rogers, and of course it failed to authenticate on Rogers.

Comments anyone?

No. At least not right now. There has been discussion and speculation that it MAY work with a future update, but as I said is only speculation.

I think we'll need a new radio ROM for this to work properly. I'm gonna call loyalty and find out.

"The Touch Pro 2 is a CDMA Phone it will never work on the new network." - Customer Service Guy (hencforth known as Kerpal"

"What? Do you even know anything about this phone it has two radios, it runs on pretty much any frequency." - Me

"Oh so you have a sim card?" - Kerpal

"Ya, there you go!" - Me

"Can I put you on hold?" - Kerpal

"Yes." - Me

......

"This phone has a GSM SIM Card, so you have to get a different phone to get on the new network." - Kerpal

"I know how these things actually work. "GSM" is just a name, the radios in this phone have the capacity to channel the frequency of the new HSPA network."

"Well maybe you should cal HTC." - Kerpal

*hang up*

So I wouldn't count on Telus for this one.

We're gonna have to count on Juggalo_X / the Elite Team for this one too.

Hopefully it is just a radio flash.

I forget where I read it, but in the FCC report it said something about the phone being locked by firmware? Or something along those lines

Hopefully its just a matter of time :D

Guys telus HSPA network runs off of 850/1900 mhz, our device only does HSPA 2100. we are SOL

the kicker is telus used to say they would support HSPA 2100, and i was assured id get on the new network.... now i check there site and TP2 is not in the supported device list.

we got boned.

But if Rogers runs on 1900/850 same as telus, and my phone sees Rogers network just fine, then doesn't this mean it would be able to work on the new Telus network? (No doubt with some hacking?)
