I would not change it to home only because it will disable your roaming outside your "home area". I have not had that issue yet, but why dont you try to change from global to cdma only under network and let me know if it works.

It does not.

I don't think anyone besides us is all that interested in fixing this unfortunately. I'm hoping Verizon comes out with that 6.5 ROM soon.

Thanks for the work arounds, however I too am hoping for a fix and also doing some research myself. Will let you know If I find anything.

Re: Help me disable this message please!

10 hour drive yesterday with my phone on HOME only. Not a single popup notification and no loss of reception the whole time.

Disabling notifications as mentioned, doesn't make the messages go away on their own either. Also, setting it to CDMA instead of Global, or vice versa made no difference.

So, I would say switching it to HOME only, is the best solution so far, for me anyway. It has stopped the messages completely and it has not had any negative impact on my reception, in many areas now. I actually have better reception, if anything.

Re: Help me disable this message please!

It does indeed fix it, but it is not a solution for those of us that need to roam. That's why I personally hope someone pays more attention to this, because for me this issue is still as critical as it was for you when you first started this thread.

Have you tried it 8notime? I still "technically" roam. I just do it without having the annoying popup now. It will still work on all the same towers that it did before. As far as I have seen.

I realize there should be another solution, but so far there isn't. You should try it and see if you still get reception, where you would normally roam and get the popup. See if you still have the same signal there.

Yeah I tried it when I was in Canada and when it's in "home" only, it won't pick up any service whatsoever.

Still did it w/ R5... Im thinking of flashing back to stock for a while which sucks as I really like the new 6.5.x UI on the nrg roms.

Thanks for letting me know before I had to travel and find this out on my own.

When I travel to Thailand will I be able to flash back to stock ROM from there if I have issues or will it be a problem getting the phone set up since I am out of the country? Would this issue even come up if i am using a SIM card from Thailand?

Thanks.

It sure isn't something I'd risk.

I have just tried 3 different ROM's and they all do the same thing. I cant set in to HOME becasue i wont get any signal then. Im gonna have to go back to stock. This will not work. Pop up is every 5 seconds

If I am in GSM only mode, will this still happen?

Re: Help me disable this message please!

I just wanted to report that I'm having the exact same problem and it's preventing me from using a custom ROM.

I had the Energy Leo ROM installed for less than a day and I just couldn't deal with the pop ups every 5 seconds so I flashed the stock ROM back.

I REALLY liked the Leo ROM, but, as I said, it's completely unusable with that pop up.

Switching to "Home" only isn't an option for me since there aren't actually any Verizon towers in my home town and switching to "Home" only kills my service.

Here's hoping that someone comes up with a fix soon. I've scanned the registry myself (as others have too) with no luck.

Re: Help me disable this message please!

Ok, just to let everyone know, I just flashed the newest Juicy R6 ROM and everything seems to be working fine. Not one pop up since I've installed it.

The only thing I did differently this time is that I did not do a hard reset after the flash. I know that you're supposed to, but since I'm not in an area where there are Verizon towers I have to drive 15 minutes across the state line (which isn't that big of a deal) to reprogram my phone (*228 ) and I just didn't feel like doing that today.

I'm just wondering if anyone else would be willing to install it on their phone to confirm this issue is in fact fixed with the R6 release or if I just got lucky this time.

Please post your findings so that we all can try to resolve this issue that has been troubling so many of us.

Did you flash from the stock rom to R6? if thats the case maybe because you didint hard reset some programing was left over from stock. Ill flash R6 this weekend and see if it still does it for me. Though I really like nrgz 280xx builds right now, if only juicy did 280xx roms I would love it lol.

I had flashed the Energy Leo ROM, flashed back to the stock ROM and then I flashed the Juicy R6 ROM.

I'm not exactly sure why it's working, but I'm happy with it so far.

Flashed the Juicy R6 ROM and the message is still there (for me at least).
