Easy Google Voice On TP2: iDialer
2 Attachment(s)
Ok so for the people like me that use Google Voice and hate having to dial in the numbers and such every time you want to call out on it I thought I would make this thread. This is a simple guide to easily use Voice on TP2 via iDialer.
1. Download the cab for iDialer below. 2. Go to this link for the configuration page http://www.supware.net/iDialer/config/ 3A. If you want to use iDialer for ALL calls and not use the windows dialer, then choose Standard service and Google Voice Calling Card. 3B. If your like me and like the windows dialer for normal calls, only choose the Google Voice Calling Card option. 4. Just enter your number in the box then pin and download the generated cab. Install iDialer and then the config cab and there you go! EDIT: Also install the iContact cab below for easy access to your contacts from iDialer. Its a very nice and finger friendly contacts application. Hope this guide helps! Please delete if this is a repeat of a previous thread. |

Re: Easy Google Voice On TP2: iDialer
Actually the method I did above doesnt use data. The option for callback using the data connection I never got to work. Ill try to use it again and see if it works now.

I tried this on my diamond and the google setup using the credit card option doesn't work for me, I setup my carrier and google and it won't let me select google, anyone sure this doesn't use a data connection (I don't have a data connection)

Re: Easy Google Voice On TP2: iDialer
On dial outs...if you dial a number or call a number from your iContact list...you'll get a call back from YOUR google voice number...
once connected, you'll get the ringtone while the number you're dialing is ringing. ALSO, if you press on the top left of the dialer...you'll trigger the hidden button to toggle you BACK to your carrier number if you so choose to call from there again. THis is great if you have given your GV # to certain groups of people...so you can send them straight to voicemail. While you're still cleared hot to call out of your carrier number. Best of all iContact and iDialer are both free. Been using these since my 6800 days... |

Re: Easy Google Voice On TP2: iDialer
SundayDuffer & Rgamer84 -- When using GVO, are you guys having any problems to get the call connected? When I use GVO, It dials out to Google Voice #, then there is a very fast/repeated dinging and the google voice (woman's voice) says "im sorry try to place your call again". I am not able to place a call at all with GVO.
Thanks, P. |
Re: Easy Google Voice On TP2: iDialer
idailer with icontacts...works perfect on my stock sprint tp2 with google voice

Re: Easy Google Voice On TP2: iDialer
GVO works flawless to me. I will argue with anyone who finds another program that works better with google voice.

Re: Easy Google Voice On TP2: iDialer
I am also having problems on my Sprint HTC Touch Pro 2. It connects to Google Voice and begins to playback my messages. I then hear some tones being dialed and then get a, "That is not a valid number…returning to main menu". At that point I can select "2" and dial the number but, want it to go through.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks. Michael Quote:
