Faster End Call

1 Attachment(s)
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\PHONE\PhoneExtendS etting]
"EndCallTime"=dword:3000

The 3000 is the default 3 seconds... I like to make it 1000 which means it takes 1/3rd the time to end a call.

found by pokerpot, I just cabbed it up.

Tested on wm6.5, works.

I am not sure. Not running a 6.1 rom right now. You could check your registry and see if it is there, if it is, I'd assume it would work.

Yes it will work on stock... 3 seconds is absurd btw, no idea where they came up with that.

fyi Advanced Config provides a nice ui to make these changes.

Using advanced config with the tp2 can cause problems ie not being able to answer calls.. you've been warned.

There was an issue sometime back, where if you changed a certain setting it would make it almost impossible to answer incoming calls. Something about the data not cutting off in time.

Yeah, I had some issues with Adv.Conf. on my TP1. I just stayed away from it.
Have not have any issues since then even with the new NRG ROM. I also havent used it too much. It does look different than the old one though.

Humm.. for some reason when I installed this Cab my phone became unresponsive as hell and would freeze up one me.

The problem went away as soon as I uninstalled the cab.... Ideas?

Possibly it is conflicting with some other software you have installed. I've got this running and well as some others with a hitch.

Re: Faster End Call

I posted this in another forum but thought I would post it here because it is more relevant in this thread. I tried the hax posted and it did nothing for me. What did work is the following.

I found a real working solution for headsets not hanging up. You have to disable internet being always on. You can use hd or diamond tweak to do this. I would not use advanced config as it causes a lag in answering the phone as per the OP in the thread. I have cooked quite a few roms and can confirm this does work. I stumbled across this fix when I went to hang up the phone, quite a few times I would get a pop up, could not connect/dial #777. So if you set your connection to disconnect after 10 minutes and then soft reset the phone. You will no longer have end call lag.

Let me know your results, they should be immediate.

Cheers,

Mikee

Re: Faster End Call

Its a program called andvanced configuration ... not make for the tp2...

I don't know how to fix the issues, since I never used it to get the problems....

try uninstalling whatever made you lose the ability to answer... or worst case, hard reset.

I checked all the programs on the tp2, i dont see advanced config. installed...but the faster end call came with MightRom. Everytime i received a fone call..swipe to answer and it just stuck there..i would have to call that person back every time...very annoying. Hopefully there is a fix for this. Thx.

Re: Faster End Call

Sounds like you have "data timeout" activated using some kind of settings tweaking program. It might be Advanced Config or HD Tweaks. I had the same problem, turned "data timeout" off and it solved that problem. If you have a custom rom, sometimes those programs are cooked in, and you won't be able to see the program in the removed programs list.

Re: Faster End Call

Have you installed another dialer?

santod 11-22-2009 05:01 AM

Re: Faster End Call

If you feel that Faster End Call is the issue, you should be able to go back into the registry and make it so that this entry reads as follows:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\PHONE\PhoneExtendS etting]
"EndCallTime"=dword:3000

That would set that to the default setting, instead of the dword:1000, that the tweak sets it to.

Re: Faster End Call

thanks guys...No i have not installed another dialer.
Though i searched around and found this..trying this method now. Hope it will fix it.

I used a timeout of 0. Works fine for me, and if you accidentally start calling someone you can end it right away and they never even get a ring.

The faster end call cab is uninstallable. It puts things back to stock then.

I have tried both 0 and 100 - both work; 0 didn't even ring.

Re: Faster End Call

I realize the .cab is uninstallable.

I just mentioned the regedit as a way to revert the setting for those that may be running a rom with it cooked in. I believe someone mentioned in an earlier post, that maybe it was cooked into the rom he was running. In that scenario, this would revert the changes it made. Regardless, looks like that was not the case or the cause of his problems.

Re: Faster End Call

The first time I installed this it removed my ability to shut off the phone, so I uninstalled it. I recently installed PSshutXP and just reinstalled apristel_FasterEndCall and now when the end/pwr key (Verizon) is held for 3 seconds it prompts PSshutXP and I can enable sleep, shutdown, or restart. Is this supposed to do this? Don't get me wrong, I like it better, but kinda curious why. Before I reinstalled it, it would just prompt the normal shutdown screen. Kinda weird.

beware, as stated before, advanced config with tp2 can result in problems..specifically answering calls.

thanks, great registry edit. you can end the call while it's "dialing" and the other phone never rings now! much needed!

Yeah, great tweak. I just did the manual reg edit, and mine was originally set at 12228 or somthing. Yikes! No wonder it lagged so bad hanging up.

So how can I remove the end call cab?

Maybe post a removal cab for us, just in case it causes trouble if we install advance config, please.

I suck at script'ing.
