And how do you know this wasn't the back end of the Verizon-HTC contract? You have an obligation to continue selling or at the very least advertising HTC products. If you can't get it in stock, oh well but you're still bound by contract to have the device advertised for x amount of days.

CSR conversations are evidence for nothing and they should never be cited as representing big decisions of a carrier. Sharing that experience is fine, just don't expect anyone to believe what is being claimed is true.

It's academic: you claim something, you cite your source, which needs to be official or you have other tangible evidence (like in this case, Verizon pulls it down from their website).

Otherwise it is rampant speculation with made-up stories to try and make it fit. Reminds me of the Evo Psych field.

Indeed I don't agree that it would be smart to stop selling the phone, but with Verizon anything is possible. Off topic, anyone go check out the DroidDoes.com page today?

I'm thinkin' I'll be purchasing one in 8 days and 13 hrs lol

Read the first post over and over until you understand it folks.

I did not talk to a customer service representative. My conversation took me MUCH higher than that. If you know how to ask questions and voice concerns, your ability to talk the the right people is usually not limited. For that matter, none of you know who I am or what type of contacts I (or anybody for that matter) has with any company. For all you know my sister could have developed the product roadmap for Verizon for the next 5 years... or could be the HTC inside product sales rep..

NONE OF THAT MATTERS. The point is that if you use a bit of common sense, the answer is clear. Read the first post until it becomes clear. The nature of commission based sales and a poorly informed sales force coupled with internet nitwits and slow product fulfillment are causing the rumors.

If you WANT a TP2 and know how to ask for one, you will get one. Stock is limited, not OUT. Here is a clue, they are taking care of business customers first. A few units at a time are released to web sales and so far it looks like none to the brick and mortar stores.

The utter lack of aggregate common sense in these threads is almost funny if not sad. Yes Verizon could shock us all and really discontinue the device, but in this case you are simply seeing a commission based sales force and poorly informed CSRs do what they do and an online community turn it into a real world rumor. Nice work folks :)

Why sticky the thead?

So that there are not 5 threads a day posted with "Is the VZW TP2 being discontinued" where this same crap is rehashed over and over.

Indeed, just call the insurance and get a BNIB one for $89 much easier than waiting for the website or calling any of the "customer service" lines
