Can Someone Please Explain Why The TP2 HSPL Is Taking Longer Then The TP HSPL?
 

Just curious, if this thread has to be moved or closed down I understand. The only thing I could think of is because of it being CDMA/GSM. All thread-related info is appreciated.

It's done already. The difference this time around is that they are using a license server to make sure people don't abuse it with mass unlocks. That is the part that we are waiting on now.

What did I do? lol, I wasn't trying to make a funny I promise. I just don't remember the original Touch pro HSPL taking as long as this one is taking. I understand everyone is busy, but is their an actual technical reason?

Two things:
They have to unlock the SIM card which the TP didn't have.
They are licensing the unlocker so that it can't be used to make money by mass unlocking phones.

I think the GSM/CDMA posed some of the original issues. I'm not quite sure they are doing this thing with the server though, but that seems to be the most recent hold up.

Might want to rephrase your question in the subject line--it comes off really forward and aggressive. Granted your actual post is much less hostile, but still...

Anyway, from what I've read, it looks like it's life stuff with the team working on it, so understandable. I haven't been following it terribly close, but I'm guessing this is just a hobby for those folks, so real life stuff should come first. Anyway, I just got my TP2 today (Sprint in-store exchange for TP) so I'm looking forward to HSPL dropping, but it'll happen when it happens.

The GSM version is already out. We're all waiting for the CDMA. As for why it's taking for ever, my opinion is poor planning.
