Post your Keyboard Config

I have discovered that one of my favorite apps for the Touch Pro 2 is the Rhodium Keyboard Control app. I have seen people use it to create all kinds of shortcuts with they keyboard. You can easily store your settings in an XML file so I thought it would be a good idea to create a thread to easily share those ideas.

Legend:
SP = Single Press
DP = Double Press
LP = Long Press

My XML files does the following:

-Fn + C/V/X/A = Ctrl + C/V/X/A
-Envelope is nothing on SP, default on DP, and rotate 270 on LP
-Fn + envelope = Tab
-Fn + . = close program
-SMS is default on SP, Beejive on LP
-Back key is default on SP, BT toggle on LP

EDIT: XDA Thread with up to date Rhodium Keyboard Controller per CovKid66's suggestion

At Briggs request: Briggs Ultimate Keyboard Config

My Config file is posted below.

-Fn + C/V/X/A = Ctrl + C/V/X/A

-Fn + Left/Right = Ctrl + Left/Right (Move backward/forward one word)

Fn + S = Send text to active window
* Text = My eSignature for work emails only e.g. name, title, company, contact info)

-BACK (LP) = Enter

-HOME (LP) = WiFi Toggle

-VOL DOWN = Down
* Rule 2 = F7 - VOL DOWN in phone app only
* Both are Direct Key Mapping / 100ms Repeats

-VOL UP = Up
* Rule 2 = F6 - VOL UP, DONE in phone app only
* Both are Direct Key Mapping / 100ms Repeats

-Fn + SMS = Tab

For Worms World Party I also did this:
Left - Rules 2 = Up
Right - Rule 2 = Down
Up - Rule 2 = Left
Down - Rule 2 = Right
Notes:
Each of these keys are also assigned a direct key mapping to their original actions with 100ms repeats so that they function normally everywhere else but in rule 2

Each of the mappings assigned to rule 2 also have 100ms repeats

To map the rule 2 for each key, I took the stylus out when prompted and switched to WWP which I had already launched before hand, and then replaced the stylus to register the app for rule 2

Now I can use left/right to move my worm (makes more sense to me than the default up/down keys!), and up/down to raise / lower the targeting on the weapon being used

Enjoy!

I know few people on this forum have GSM phones, but just in case you do, be sure to download the GSM version of Keyboard Config for your phone. It's located at XDA-Developers.

How did you accomplish the bold part and what do you mean by action screen? Can you post your xml? I'd love to take a look at it.

Can you post your xml file?

All you have to do is go to menu -> config -> save config to save the xml. Then just xfer to computer, zip it up, and upload.

I don't think the Action Screen is available on all devices. If you have it look for \windows\htcactionscreen.exe. If it's there you can map a key to launch that app. If it isn't there, I think you're out of luck!

I am having trouble with Remapping the Start button. I have the DP and LP programed to start an application, which they do fine. I have the SP set for default action. The problem is when I do the single press, the start page flashes for a second then the screen returns to the tab it was on or the home tab if I do it from an open program. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Mike

How did you accomplish FN + Backspace = DEL?? I tried using clear, but it does nothing. Can you please post your xml file or let me know what you did? I also have a Verizon TP2.

this application keeps seeming better and better. just wondering would you be able to config the button on the top on the vzw phone? to turn the screen on and off?

Wirelessly posted (Sprint/1.0/HTC_Touch_Pro2_T7380 Opera/9.50 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en))

The configurations don't seem to work in Opera text boxes. It does work in the address bar, but not on the website text boxes. Am I missing something?

That's not how I read the OP...it says share ideas...not XML file. However, it definitely may have been helpful to post the file too, especially in those case where people are asking how certain keys, like the DEL, were mapped. Personally I found it most useful to scan through what ideas / mappings people were coming up with.

@WisdomWolfX: Might I recommend you remove the v1.3.2 cab on your first post and add a link to the XDA thread instead so users can always get the latest rev regardless of when they visit this thread in the future. Case in point, there is a newer 1.4 version out now anyway.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this was for the stock rom? I'm running CFays rom, and I want to change the send key to go to call history instead of the dialer screen.

Would it be similar to this thread, or completely different. Any advice appreciated. Many TIA.

Re: Post your Keyboard Config

Made myself a D pad with this app;

Double clicking the volume rocker up and down is up and down and double clicking send and end is left and right. I then made long press "back" enter and voila, Dpad.

I also made long press on the volume rocker be pg up pg down, this is nice for reading emails or this forum it just skips one page.

I also set dbl click windows key to open comm manager, and long press to open the taskmanager app in the windows directory that shows all processes, even those exclusive to the HTC taks manager. I also made double click back, close program.

This set up adds alot of functionality to the device with the keyboard closed. (amazing what you can get done sitting in a waiting room when you're bored)

I'm working on some other additions and will post my full config up soon.

[EDIT] Just wanted to say this is the most useful application for the TP2, hands down.

I haven't specifically tried CFays ROM, but it should still work. I have used it on every ROM I've tested (Stock, MM, Juicy, NRG, etc) ant it has worked flawlessly.

Re: Post your Keyboard Config

Maybe someone can help me out here. I'm usually pretty good at figuring out this stuff, but I can't seem to get this to work.

I have been using VolDPAD in my VZ TP2 all along, but now running Juicy's ROM it doesn't work for me.

All I want the KB driver to do is duplicate the functions of VolDPAD. Can somebody please post me a config file to do this?????

What that program does is:

1. volume up button scrolls up

2. volume down button scrolls down

3. double click volume up: scroll left

4. double click volume down: scroll right

I don't care if the controls work for volume at all, I never change the volume anyway.

You want it to scroll up/down a whole page or just a line at a time?

Good idea. I don't like adding configurations to the keyboard letters/symbols because it seems to introduce a delay for normal keyboard presses while it waits to decide if it's a Single Press or going to be a Double Press. That's why I've used fn + whatever for most of my configurations.

The SIP keyboard has a DEL button, maybe it could be linked somehow. Also, redd214 said in post 2 he has a DEL function mapped to FN+BKSPC, and he also has a Verizon TP2 (As I assume since his carrier says Verizon).
