i have a oem. it is a very nice piece... and charges at a very good rate for a car charger, and it works. it is the only one that i have found that works with my mogul..

mine was purchaced at newegg.. about a year ago. for ~ 17 bucks shipped.. it has been flawless..

i know that sound stupid, but i went through ~ 4 other charger that would work for a couple of weeks then fail..

I guess part of my problem is I only use the car charger about once every 3 months so I would never know. But I always 'try' to get OEm anyways.

Re: OEM HTC Car Charger

The 2A is great.. but be advised that not all devices will be able to use that same charger as the HTC. Case and point.. blackberry chargers work on our HTCs .. but HTC chargers don't work on blackberry. At least that is been my experience.. So in the car i use a universal one.. that works with everything.. mp3, blackberry, touch pro.. etc..

Re: OEM HTC Car Charger

I want the oem one because I like it looks and I want the real thing not some cheap chinese fake that won't output the current and won't last. And I could buy a fake for $4. I'm not paying $12.50 for a fake.

Re: OEM HTC Car Charger

I paid $17.50 I think but can't remember where I got it. I just googled the OEM HTC charger and found it. Mine has the glowing Blue light where it says HTC with the chrome ring around the top. Others have no light and are just all black. The only thing I don't like is that it looks like it was built by Igo meaning it's too small for a normal power charger receptacle and it seems easy to break contact connection. It also has the exact same design as the Igo.

Re: OEM HTC Car Charger

LOL, wtf is everyone complaining about? You think the OEM ones are not made in China/Taiwan/...? A car charger isn't exactly rocket science...

The TP2 has a Mini USB interface for a reason... pickup a universal charger for 4-5 bucks and be done with it. I picked up a retractable one off eBay for 8 bucks, it works just dandy... I use it like once a month but haven't had any issues yet.

Re: OEM HTC Car Charger

That isn't the point I want the looks of the htc oem charger. I don't want a generic one. I have a generic one now but I can drain the phone faster than it can charge because it doesn't output the current. Yes they are all made in china but the generic or cheap ones don't have the better regulators to output high current with good reliability.
I filed a paypal claim so I have a refund of some type coming.

Re: OEM HTC Car Charger

The seller offered be a partial refund of $9 meaning the charger now cost me $3.5. So I am fine with a fake for that price.

Re: OEM HTC Car Charger

Can anyone confirm that the HTC 79H00058-04M is 2 Amps? I ordered this one off of Amazon, and I haven't tried it on my TP2. I am a little worried since it doesn't charge my blackberry. Here is the link:

Re: OEM HTC Car Charger

2 amps has nothing to do with it charging you blackberry or any phone. The amperage is just how long it will take to charge the phone.
