OEM HTC Car Charger

I like the looks of the oem htc chargers. I want to buy one but am trying to decide where to get one. There are some on ebay.
1. http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-OEM-HTC-CAR-...item3ca63de43f
2. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

I think the first is fake but maybe the second is real. Also I can get one in the PPCgeeks store for $20. What do you think my best option is? I like the real oem ones for better charging current which I bet the fakes ones don't give out.

Edit: Check new post 10/28/09

Re: OEM HTC Car Charger

I know that the HDC-02, which is the model number, outputs 2A which is nice for fast charging. Many of the cheap non oem chargers only output like .5A.

Your first link shows that model number but your second doesn't.

Re: OEM HTC Car Charger

I would go with the 2nd one. I've had two of those since I had my Mogul and they are still running strong, that is if it is a true OEM

Re: OEM HTC Car Charger

And the second one is from mi. I wouldn't expect to many fake from there. I diffidently want the high output 2a because when i run soemthing like garmin and navizon it drains the battery faster than my current can charge.

Briver where did you buy yours and for how much?

Re: OEM HTC Car Charger

I definitely would NOT buy the first one. That's way too cheap for an authentic HTC car charger, and it's from HK? Must be a knock off. I got a Motorola HT820 bluetooth headphones a few years back, and my bro bought a set from HK, and although it looks damn near identical (icluding color, design, and logo), you can definitely tell a difference in the hand, and it's performance. It was not a real Motorola product.

I got my HTC charger from Expansys for approx. $20 last year. Works absolutely great. 2A charge, looks cool with the HTC logo lit up with the blue LED, and is much better than the generic chargers. I would say buy from Expansys (as many members have), but if you're a super bargain shopper, just be careful

Re: OEM HTC Car Charger

Ok so I bought the $12.50 one from ebay and I don't think it to be OEM. Can someone who has a OEM charger provide some information off the side so I can check mine.

Re: OEM HTC Car Charger

You don't need to get an OEM HTC car charger. Any GOOD USB car charger will do -- even though HTC devices have a slightly non-standard shaped socket, standard mini USBs fit in them just fine. (I am using the OEM Moto one I have left over from my Q9c.)

This may give you more options.

So I am really curious why this matters to you? If it charges the phone then whats the problem.....unless your upset that it is not what was advertised , that I understand , otherwise I would just use it

my guess it that if it is not oem it will last about as long as most cheap chargers, and not charge fast..

i have a oem. it is a very nice piece... and charges at a very good rate for a car charger, and it works. it is the only one that i have found that works with my mogul..

mine was purchaced at newegg.. about a year ago. for ~ 17 bucks shipped.. it has been flawless..

i know that sounds stupid, but i went through ~ 4 other chargers that would work for a couple of weeks then fail..

beers
