TP2 - Droid? Thoughts?

Anyone here who owns a TouchPro2 intrigued by the new "droid"? The specs are quite impressive, however, I don't know anything about android besides the fact that it is tied up with Google. I still have a few days to return my phone and would love an expert's opinion about this upcoming device.

Thoughts please?

yes, im very interested in it. Im concerned about the keyboard though and highly doubt it'll be as nice as the TP2's. I might use the upgrade on my other line to get it when it comes out and switch off in between devices

That is the same thing I will be doing.

from a purely aesthetic point of view, the thing looks like it came straight out of the early 80's....

Is that a thumb print reader on the thing or some kind of mouse?

I dont care if that thing has a super computer in, that thing is hideous!! My TP2 is way sexier and would never trade it for the ugly thing.

i have the htc hero and the PRO 2. the Android OS is really super cool and has a lot of little nice features (widgets) in it that make the OS a serious contender. if you like to mod/customize/hack ROMs then you may want to wait a while since its not easy to modify it as it is with the ppc devices, but in time that will change. the OS is still the new kid on the block and i am sure this device (droid) will have weird bugs in it so also keep that in mind.

I have to agree with Strra, it is pretty ugly as far as modern phones go. Has anyone seen a spec showing the screen resolution? Lack of (W)VGA options for Android is the biggest thing keeping me in the WinMo camp.

My guess would be, that is a 5 way navigation that you can click with. Only because I don't see any arrows on the keyboard.

List of Rumored Specifications

• OMAP3430 – 600 MHz ARM Cortex A8 + PowerVR SGX 530 GPU + 430MHz C64x+ DSP + ISP (Image Signal Processor)
• Dimensions 60.00 x 115.80 x 13.70 mm
• Weight 169 g
• Battery Li-ion 1400 mAh.
• Standby 450 hours, talk time 420 minutes
• 3.7-inch touch-sensitive display with a resolution of 854×480 pixels, 16 million color depth. Physical screen size is 45.72 mm by 81.34 mm.
• 512MB/256MB ROM/RAM

Again, none of these specs are confirmed. In fact, the 1400 mAh battery spec is likely wrong as we’ve been told it is actually 1390 mAh. This device has also been rumored to come with 16GB internal storage, though that is also unconfirmed. The 5.0MP autofocus camera is said to be very good.
