How did you get the tv out/video out to work on the touch pro 2?
It worked great on my touch pro but I haven't been able to figure out to get it to work on the touch pro 2.

I assume all of you are using the OEM cable? Has anyone used a third party type cable, or (as I was doing with my TP) an old Ipod cable with a TVOut hack/cab?

Re: How did you get the tv out/video out to work on the touch pro 2?
ya i know there are cheaper ways such as Mcguyver'ing old adapters and doing registry edits and such as well as cab downloads but i didnt feel like dealing with all that. I saw a utube video on the tv out, which was german, and it utilized a tv out ac t110 cable and it worked. so i just said screw it and paid the 25 bucks for it. I feel it was well worth the money. I notice that the htc cable here in the states is an ac t100 cable. Just out of curiousity... does anyone know what the difference is between the ac t100 and a ac t110 cable? I googled the heck out of it and couldnt find a difference.

Re: How did you get the tv out/video out to work on the touch pro 2?
I used an ipod cable connected to the 3.5mm jack on the phone with the registry hack but it doesn't work. I also used the ipod cable connected to the dongle to the usb on the phone with registry hack but still doesn't work. Do I need to pull some pins out or get some special cable for this to work?
|
Re: How did you get the tv out/video out to work on the touch pro 2?
I used a generic 3.5mm cable on the dongle, after doing the tape trick (instead of pulling the 4th(?) pin) and it worked for me. Too bad the registry hack from the TP1 days doesn't work :(

Maybe we'll get a new reg hack someday, I just assumed it would work too, never gave it a second thought til I went to use it and it didn't. |
Re: How did you get the tv out/video out to work on the touch pro 2?
I have two oem from htc, one is installed in my car but everything on both works flawless.

Re: How did you get the tv out/video out to work on the touch pro 2?
is a registry hack going to be released for the touch pro 2? i don't know how to tape or pull the 4th pin out. and i don't want to spend $25 for a special tv out cable.

Re: How did you get the tv out/video out to work on the touch pro 2?
I bought this off ebay for $10 shipped and it works great! Search this guy's auctions, the UK one had a cheaper price.

Re: How did you get the tv out/video out to work on the touch pro 2?
I used the 3 way adaptor (power, 3.5mm, 2,5mm) from my old Touch Pro. Cracked it open and cut the blue wire (same as pin 4). Then just plugged in a 3.5mm camcorder cable switching red and yellow wires and BOOM works flawlessly. Phone switches into TV out mode automatically.
Use it to watch Slingplayer on my Navigation system AUX input, very important when you don't want to miss those important sporting events. |
Re: How did you get the tv out/video out to work on the touch pro 2?
I'm on my second TP2 because of the Video Out. I have the official HTC Video Cable that I used on my TP. It didn't work on my first TP2 but it did work on my second. Has anybody else recieved a TP2 that didn't work with Video Out?

If you have the adapter from an old Diamond, use that and save a few bucks. Unfortunately, once you crack the adapter open, it won't snap back together again... I put some tape on temporarily, but will probably glue it later. Only downside to this is the size of the adapter... but hard to beat "free". R |

I went the 4th pin removal route, but much like you (from a previous post), when I connect to the TV, it only works if I use the proper colors (yellow to yellow, etc...) Maybe that's our problem? Anyone think that cracking my adapter open and snipping the blue wire could help at this point? I thought that the pin and wire did the same thing, but maybe not? I'd love to get it working without the insanely annoying blue flashes, but would rather not wreck the adapter completely of course. I'm even considering getting the OEM (or at least cheap knockoff) cables from ebay or something, but I'd be even more disappointed if the problem persisted after buying and waiting for them. Any advice? |
Re: How did you get the tv out/video out to work on the touch pro 2?
im alittle annoyed that my stereo port Nokia tv out doesent work. But still would like to use Tv out...is there any hack i can use to make my current cable work? if not which is the best cable to buy...a cheapo 3rd party one or are you better off buying an OEM one?

Re: How did you get the tv out/video out to work on the touch pro 2?
I got my TP2 (Tilt 2) to work without having to remove the 4th pin with a 3.5mm video out cable. Check my reply here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...40#post4837240 for more info and pics.

I used the multimedia adapter I made for my TP1. Snip the green cord or something? I dunno, it works tho

Chronster, I also snipped a wire at first for my TP1, then realized all it took was a reg edit (which could be toggled by an app someone made). The reg/toogle method proved a better solution because I could choose whether or not I wanted the plug to be video out or straight up audio. I actually lost my modified box and picked up another one at a sprint store, glad I didn't have to modify it this time. Sure, nowadays we have a dedicated audio jack so it doesn't seem as important to be able to toggle... however, remember not all TP2's have that jack. The T-mobile version, for example, is stuck with the old extended-USB port for audio. Plus, not having to modify another box and wrap with electrical tape would be nice. :) Seems silly to do a messy hardware mod when it COULD be controlled via software. How about this- someone who has a modified box: compare your registry values before you plug in the cable and when it is plugged in to see what changes. I'll bet we can find a value that controls it somewhere... |

Does anyone know where I can get the TV out register hack for the TP2? I've searched in this forum and XDA and was unable to find it. If someone have it, would you please provide a link? If there is no registry hack for the TP2, does anyone know if the blue wire cutting method also work for the TP2 multimedia adapter? Perhaps if someone can post a pic of what exactly they cut on the original TP adapter, I can cut the same one and achieve the same results. Wire colors may be different for the TP2 adapter. Thanks in advance. |

The thing is, I don't have a TP1 adapter. But I have 2 TP2 adapters. If the internals are the same, I think I can cut the same wire to get it to work, right? Anyone tried it on a TP2 adapter, yet? Thanks again.
Attached is a picture of the internals of the TP2 adapter. If it is exactly like the TP1 adapter, then I should be able to cut the same wire to make it work, right? |
Re: How did you get the tv out/video out to work on the touch pro 2?
I decided to give it a try and just unsolder the blue wire on my TP2 adapter. Just in case it was the wrong one or there is a reason to use the blue wire later, I can always solder it back on. Plugged yellow to red and red to yellow. All good. No other software required. I was able to play movies with coreplayer without problems. Charging functions seems to be working normally, too. Tomorrow I shall try to hook up the video in my car while attaching the adapter to the car charger. I will post back if something is not working properly. Otherwise, happy modding. :)
