u can but it wouldnt be activated so theres no point!! u can get a prepaid account with at&t or tmoblie! or get on someones family share plan

Well it took about 20 minutes for them to give me the unlock code. But it seems that they had it on hand. So I am wondering if the code is the same code for all of us. Unfortunately they didn't email me the code like they did for other users. But I do know that my code started with a 170.

the unlock code is based off ur meid or imei! i assume its the imei because thats used by gsm providers to issue unlock codes!

I dont think there is a differencei n hardware, the the radio

Sprint and USC support utms 900, VZW and Telus don't. it may be as simple as a radio flash.

I unlocked my sim from verizon but was also wondering what would happen if I switch from global model to gsm and always connect to at&t using my verizon sim card? Will verizon charge me for this or is this somehow against the tos?

Thanks, I am just curious but was afraid to connect to the att network without checking in with you guys first.

dont know where you got that from, they have full memory.

and they are quad pand gsm, im pretty sure they are the same chipset as the rhod500 so it might be as simple as a radio update to get the quadband for telus and USC users

once you unlock your vzw touch pro2 you are free to take any sim card that has service on it from tmobile, at&t and i think it even takes net10 and tracfone sims and when you switch to gsm mode you will use the sim card. When you switch to cdma or global mode you will mainly use verizon.

thanks wolfordtw, that is what I understood about the other carriers sim card. What happens if I use the verizon sim card but select GSM only and the at&t carrier (better covereage in some areas I go)? Will this force my verizon phone to use at&t over vzw and will verizon care?
