Which music player uses the least power

As I now use my phone as my primary music player and would like to know which one uses the least amount of power (thus longer times before a recharge). As it stands I can get anywhere from 3-5 hours of music/audio playback with S2P or coreplayer. Also is there a way to see how much power is being used while a app is running?

Re: Which music player uses the least power

TCPMP probably uses the least. It's real lightweight. I, however, use S2U2 with S2P.

I use Nitrogen the most. Do a Google search for it. It's a free app that somebody from XDA-Devleopers created. The app is incredibly lightweight and is advertised as using very little power. It works great.

you'll never be able to accurately predict battery usage, because they're too many variables

I really like the S2P/S2U2 combo to, my only issue with S2P is (at least from what I can tell) no way to minimize S2P and use other apps.

Iv tried Nitrogen and while I think its a nice little player, the fact it does not support album art yet is kinda a bummer and at least for me very buggy, not ready for prime time. Im hopeful though for future versions.

Iv been thinking of buying a second battery for when I know ill be away from a power outlet for to long.

There has to be a way to measure power usage while running programs though. I still think it would be useful info for everyone to know which music apps will give you the best battery life.

I just press the back button and it minimizes and continues playing just fine

To exit you can bring it back up with the HTC Task Manager, or control it from s2u2

hmm, that's strange...here is how i have mine set up:

-I load S2P, play a song
-Press back
-resume normal activity
-S2U2 comes on either after inactivity or when i press the power button
-control music playback from s2u2
-unlocking s2u2 brings me back into whatever app i was in
-use htc task manager in the top right to bring back up s2p to close

i hear you, but to obsess over something so petty..... measuring the power usage of each, and every app to save what, 5 mins of battery time? for 14 bucks you'll won't care about all all of that, because you'll have enough juice to listen to music/watch movies non stop for two days straight... trust me, take advantage of that battery door, and leave the app power measurements to those who are less fortunate (iphone users). *two cents*

I have used Nitrogen 1.2 daily for almost a month now and have never experienced any bugs yet. Be sure to check out version 1.2, as album art works flawlessly on it!
