now, do the same breaks happen with personalizer? or is it that since you are editing the actual manila file that other manila files looking to it are going wtf and breaking themselves? |
Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 8.12; MSIEMobile6.0) Sprint T7380)
I'll wait till this is somewhat perfect before I install it, good luck on the fixes and thanks for all your hard work Freez. |

Re: HOW TO: Change carrier text permanently without Personalizer!
I have an HTC Imagio. I am trying to figure out how to change the "today screen" font to black, instead of the default white, so that it will show up better against lighter backgrounds. I found the 1c684cd8_manila file, but I'm lost on what to edit, and if I try to move the file back into the /windows directory, I get an error saying that the file is in use. (I have TF3D disabled already). Can you help me Freeza?

Re: HOW TO: Change carrier text permanently without Personalizer!
Worked great! I had to search for "CarrierNetwork" instead of "Carriertext" to find the indicated string but I found it none-the-less. I also found that I needed to call myself to clear the "0 Missed Calls" and revert back to "Call History" on my Sprint TP2 in case anyone runs into the same thing (though I think it's been mentioned). Oh yeah and...
You've been thanked! Well done! |
Re: HOW TO: Change carrier text permanently without Personalizer!
Hey man, i was wondering if you could make me one that doesnt have a name / is blank. I have been trying to pull the file off of my phone for 2 hours now and it just wont move.

Re: HOW TO: Change carrier text permanently without Personalizer!
Ok i got the file off of my phone but the file editor wont work >.<
EDIT: Ok i got the file off and edited it on another computer, i just put a space and it shows up as nothing. Awesome. So about the 0 Missed Calls, Im wondering if i could make an edit in the manilla file responsible for making call history / calender invisible to make it so it doesnt show up. I believe you could remove the Missed Calls string from the file and this wouldnt show up, the only problem is if you have more then 1 missed call it wont show up on the home screen. |

Before reading below, please understand that I just started playing around with these files recently, so I may be taking some extra steps. Freeza can fill in the blanks if my solution has any merit. What I did was right click on the object subtree <Object>Type=GLESText" and chose "Copy". I then right clicked on the parent tree <Group> and pasted (seen below in blue). I then had two identical entries as shown below. I left the "CarrierNetwork" in as you can see, but I changed the brown highlighted values to ensure that it would not show up. I basically gave it a height of 0 and changed the x and y coordinates to 0 as well. I am not sure if the x and y coordinates needed to be changed, but the end result worked for me. In my copied version, I made the changes Freeza outlined of removing the carriernetwork text and then put my info in "Steven's Phone" (no quotes). http://i640.photobucket.com/albums/u...rrierlogo2.jpg My thought is that since the original entry is still there, the bugs seen by removing it will disappear. Let me know if this fixes the issue or not. On a side note, I cannot get the m9editor to work on Windows 7 x64. Won't even start up and immediately throws out an error. My workaround is running it off an XP virtual machine I have. |
