WTF is Bing?? I want Google to search

To the OP: did this work for you on your Verizon TP2? The thread journeyman846 specifically refers to AT&T, and the final post at this time implies that it may not, or didn't work, for Verizon phones.

This is something I'd like to alter as well.

Yes, it did work for me. Here is a quote from XDA-Developers on the regedit I did on my Verizon TP2.

The ModifyTo search string is basically what Opera uses when you do a search from it's search field.

Regarding bing, sounds interesting about the gas prices, etc... (movie times, I use fandango, maps=Google Maps, etc...). I read Live search is great for looking up all this stuff, but I don't search for nearby restaurants, or find which gas station has $0.04 cheaper fuel). yways, I think all of us agree that we want the browser tab to use Google as the search box, not bing.

To confirm this - it worked for my Verizon TP2 as well - no problems.

Had an initial problem - installed CeRegEditor, and it kept throwing error messages when I started up, or tried to do anything (Vista Home Premium 64-bit). I tried "Run as Administrator" and that fixed everything.

Very easy to edit registry from the Desktop, for me, rather than on the device.
