How is WinMo left behind? There are phones with working FM. Doesn't the GSM Touch Pro have FM unlocked?

1st as EGOvoruhk stated we already have plenty of devices that have an fm transmitter, imagio (verizon diamond 2), gsm tp 1 and tp2, all diamonds, plus more, even our tp2s will have it once an unlocker is made.

2nd the fm transmitter has nothing to do with windows mobile, that is a piece of hardware that has to be into the device by the manufacturer, why are you so quick to jump down windows throat but yet you're rocking a windows phone.

didnt happen with sprints tp1 and its not gonna happen on their tp2...

whats new about this anyways, iphone has plenty of apps we dont...

thats funny because no one ever expected it to be in the tp1. it was confirmed way before the hardware wasn't there, and nobody even made any real attempts at it because it was known it wouldnt work. the actual radio is in the tp2 thats why people think it will work.

Nope, GSM phones came with it stock. So technically it's not unlocked as it has never been locked.
Sprint and verizon and all CDMA carriers I believe have decided to not allow the initialization of the fmrouter in the SPL in the TP2. So CDMA is locked as far as FM radio is concerned. The imagio does have it though. So it is on our phones since they both have the same bluetooth chipset. I spent along time trying to hack it. And since I cant find any good info on rebasing and editing the SPL, or even instruction as to what needs to be modified within the SPL I cant go any further than with the tools I have. If I had a BSP for the TP2, I could probably get it as I know what cfunctions to use to start up that little bad boy hiding in there.

Oh and just because we get a unlock SPL from Oli and Cmonex, does'nt mean we're getting the FM radio. It's in there, but they need to put the initialization code in, to start the fmrounter.

I am almost positive you can also, as many have said on xda that more then likely they will be able to make it work.

I agree with you but part of the reasoning is that if I made a product I'd want to be sure to hit the most rabid customer base willing to spend money for something (regardless if it's useless or not).
