Touch Pro 2 Bug or just my phone....

I just received my TP2 and wanted to see if I’ve uncovered an issue that everyone will experience or if it’s unique to my TP2. Please chime in if you’re experiencing this as well:

When selecting the battery status, network status next to the end task on the right of the start bar/task bar only the notifications screen opens up. The screen is properly aligned and I can’t find a way to re-configure this from happening. Even a clear memory/reset to factory settings doesn’t help.

It's an issue caused by this particular version of HTC Notification Enhancement, so everyone has it (unless they installed a new version via CAB)

get a reg editer and do this

Disable Notification

HKLM\Services\NOTIFICATIONMANAGER\Flags. It should be 0 by default - change it to 4.
This stops the HTC notification manager running and restores the default WM functionality.

Are you on Sprint? It doesn't help that you say "none of your business" on your carrier info. There are many reg hacks that work on one carrier model but not on another, even within the CDMA world, like the "Roaming Only" hack I posted, which works on Sprint, but not Verizon

well it was never said what it was used for. unlike some people i dont send them to scour 400+ posts. I found ones that work for me and compiled a list.

if one must be nosy I have sprint. though I don't see who's business it is

it would be a wonderful world if there were sub forums for carriers then but I dont see that happening.

the only way you will find what works is trial and error. and you should compose your own list.

There doesn't need to be sub-forums by carriers, since almost everyone posts their carrier, and we can see who they have in the original post. Some folks know that things are carrier-specific, other solutions are in doubt, others work on all models, or within CDMA or GSM only, and hence we test and report. We are sort of a family, and try to help. Thanks for telling us you're with Sprint, that helps. Do you have a TP2 yet? It would help to know that, since many things that work on the TP1 (or other similar models) don't work on the TP2.

I'm as Conservative and worried about privacy as anyone, but I don't think this issue of our carrier and model, is going to be an issue with anyone who counts. (They already know, says TheBundo, as he removes the battery from his phone)

This did not work for me as Flags was already set to 4 on my phone. I'm using Juicy's ROM R2 on VZW. Still looking for a simple solution to disable the HTC Notification manager..

Edit: Nevermind. I'm just a moron. I used Total Commander to check the registry and it shows the size next to each key and the size of Flags is 4 bytes. The value, however, was 0 and yes, changing it to 4 and resetting did work.
