Re: Goodbye my TP2 Friends!

i actually plotted down the 649.50 (with taxes and all) on the pre sale at Best Buy for the Hero. Returned it two hours later for a refund and just ordered a Touch Pro 2.

IMO the hero had some lag in the animations as much as you'd see in WMo so don't expect a magical transitioning phone even stock, in which case I'd love the bigger screen full duplex, and keyboard when it arrives for which i paid a considerably smaller amount of money, saved myself a contract extension aswell so here' to 2010 devices with a Full Upgrade :P

Re: Goodbye my TP2 Friends!

All this business about WinMo being so laggy compared to other phones has me a little confused. I own a Diamond, Pre, and an iPhone 3G, and my wife has a TP2. Every device I own lags at some point or another, not just WinMo. Have fun with your Hero anyways, I was a little bored with it myself. However, I'm sure I'll get one eventually so that I can complete my collection of phones with the various operating systems...

guys, it wasnt an easy decision for me to leave. I did have to think on it for awhile. I have had WinMo devices for about 3yrs now, and feel that I have mastered them. But lately I have found that I just dont really care for it much anymore. Yeah I already miss some things about it. ActiveSync, WMplayer, windows OS in general. Its only been one day, and I havent had issues with lag on the Hero, and it is connecting ev-do just fine! To me it is a better media device than the TP2 (imo) and I am a DJ, and often need that access to the wide world of purchasing music at the tips of my fingers.
Dont be haters, I may return one day to WinMo, but for now, I am out! Best to all of you guys. Thanks for the feedback!

That ev-do you speak of is rev-O speeds and not rev-A speeds but like I said on the first page, you'll be back.

I read somewhere (I think it was on the Sprint community boards) that the phone is Rev. A capable but has a display bug that indicates Rev. 0. Can't find it though.

Hey Muff, you may be right someday about me coming back, but I just cant see it anytime in the near future. My phone is sick fast, and the internet speeds are no slower or faster than my TP2. Don't hate the player, hate the game! peace-br

Well after almost 2 full days of use, I no longer miss my TP2. In fact, I would say this is one of the best phones I have ever owned. I am able to sync it to outlook, much like WinMo, and that was important to me. I can still watch all my movies, get more apps to better music locations and downloads, and the touch flo is SICK smooth! The whole device just feels better in the palm of my hand. There is onw thing I miss about the TP2 though, not enough people in the Hero forum...? Kinda lonely in there... peace-br

and Muff, I won't be back bro, but I will be thinking of you!

I had to comment on this^... I agree 100%. I have been with Sprint for 11 years, through all the crappy service and mediocre phones. They finally have a phone selection (with more to come) that basically beats out the other big US carriers. HTC/Android/Touch screen phones are going to really help their numbers. My only gripe is their inconsistent customer service. While it IS better than 5 or 10 years ago, I still deal with reps who don't know anything, and can hang up/call right back and get the problem solved. They could do a little better with long-term loyal customer pricing as well.
