Camera Change button

Is it possible when in camera mode to use the volume button to take the picture instead of having to hit the small box on the screen?

i hate having to hold the camera with one hand to take a picture

Re: Camera Change button

I'm looking to use a button too. Maybe the Rhodium Keyboard Controller will allow that. I just haven't SEARCHED into it too much. You might try looking into that popular app. I've been too busy to get into that app yet.

A button is also needed when using some barcode readers, as they don't go fully into the camera app, but say to press the button, which makes those apps useless.

Personally, I have no issue using 2 hands

Re: Camera Change button

This would be great, but I have not found a way to control the camera. If so I could then map the button using Keyboard config.

Edit: I think I might have found a way to use Mortscript and Keyboard control to do this.

Update:
I was able to assign the long press for the volume up just for the camera app to send the enter key.

Now you can take the picture by holding down the volume up key.

Can you upload the files, or specific directions? This sounds great

Re: Camera Change button

Thanks Austin for that. I've been looking for something like this but have never added a key to the Keyboard config. Could you or someone explain it from the start (ex: where is the keyboard config file)? I did a quick search and didn't see how to either.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Camera Change button

thanks that's awesome, i works perfectly now, the volume up key only acts just like a camera button with just one quick push, no need to do long push or any of that crap! and the best part is it operates normally when not in the camera program!!!

Which version of Rhodium Keyboard Controller do you have? I am using version 1.4?
If you don't have it I attached it
EDIT: if you don't have sdkcerts already installed I've attached that as well
(just install both cabs, you might need a soft reset after both install to get everything rolling)
The file will be located in you settings menu (start -> settings -> keyboard config)

version 1.4 looks different than version 1.3 (which is what the previously posted instructions have)
Attached Files
File Type: cab RhodiumKbdControl_CDMA_1.4.CAB (430.3 KB, 19 views) Click for barcode!
File Type: cab SdkCerts.CAB (4.6 KB, 13 views) Click for barcode!

I installed 1.4 but when running keyboard config (on stock rom), i get the error "Can't find appropriate keyboard drive running. Please make sure you are using right driver and it is currently running". Any ideas which driver i need to have?

Thanks!
