SERO 500 users - gotten approved for $100 rebate on TP2 yet?

I know it's too early for people to have gotten their $100 rebates from Sprint from the Touch Pro 2 yet. I'd like to know if any SERO 500 29.99 a month plans have gotten approved on the:
https://www.sprintrebates.com/track/sprintpcs/
site yet?
If you have which rebate form did you use?

Re: SERO 500 users - gotten approved for $100 rebate on TP2 yet?

Chatted with a rep online, told I was basically eligible for NOTHING, and said ok, and ordered off Ebay. No rebate to hope for, and I am not on a contract either. I wasn't going to mess with it. They said all they could really do was $50 or $75 off the $600 price with a 2yr.

I paid LESS off ebay, and activated it online with my SERO and can leave if I want too. Or if I realize I can get a better phone down the road, I can.

Sure I probably wont ever find what I pay. I actually pay less then the $30 for the 500, but I figured why not go contract free =D>

Re: SERO 500 users - gotten approved for $100 rebate on TP2 yet?

I'll send my in this weekend, it's less than a $1 to mail a letter, might as well try. But I already got $150 credit for re-newal and $150 credit for the phone itself..so if this $100 goes through, it'll be THE deal :)

I'll be getting it for $200 after the rebate according to the CSR... I asked twice for the CSR to confirm the rebate is valid for the upgrade, I'm on the SERo $30 plan, and he assured me it was... We'll see. I'll keep you guy posted.

I'm not giving up my $30 sero for anything lol.

Here is the MIR form... btw i just send mine yesterday and can some one explain to me what is the reason sprint wont give back my $100? and i am a sero 500.

quickstang 10-08-2009 02:58 PM

Re: SERO 500 users - gotten approved for $100 rebate on TP2 yet?

Another reason I was told I couldn't get it was my plan was not $39.99 or higher.

Rebate....."You may be required to activate on a service plan of $39.99 or higher ($39.99 is base monthly plan
price and does not include fees for add-on features and services"

Also...Qualified existing customers, with service on the same device for more than 22 consecutive
months and a new two-year agreement, may be eligible for mail-in rebates on the devices
listed on the front of this form.

Anyway, wasn't taking my chances nor renewing.

Vegasden 10-08-2009 02:59 PM

Re: SERO 500 users - gotten approved for $100 rebate on TP2 yet?

The form says "you may be required to activate on a service plan of $39.99 or more"...so (in theory) they can deny the $100 rebate as a Sero 500 is $30.

Which rebate do you plan on sending in, the EPRP one or the regular?

Exactly! There is a different form for the Referral program. Here's a link to it:

http://www.nextel.com/assets/pdfs/en...mir_103109.pdf

Here' the list of requirements off of that form:

TO QUALIFY FOR A REBATE, YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL CUSTOMERS
> Activate your new device(s) with a new two-year agreement on each line of service by 11/14/09.
> Include your sales receipt or packing slip – must be dated between 9/3/09 and 10/31/09.
> Fill the certificate out entirely – must be postmarked no later than 11/14/09.
> Cash your rebate within ninety (90) days of issuance.
> For Nextel devices, SIM card included in new device must be used with activation.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR CUSTOMERS adding a new line of service
> Activate your new device(s) on a new line of service.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR CUSTOMERS upgrading your device(s)
> Qualified existing customers, with service on the same device for more than 22 consecutive
months and a new two-year agreement, may be eligible for mail-in rebates on the devices
listed on the front of this form.
> Your account cannot have any unpaid past-due amounts.

Nowhere on the EPRP form does it have a minimum monthly requirement.

I'm on SERO 500 and got the phone for $199 with:

SERO contract extension of 2 years.
I had $150 phone upgrade credit.
No rebates. I don't know what would happen if i sent in the form. But i think i will try.

I got the same email. Currently the status reads
Quote:

Your rebate submission has been received and is proceeding through the validation process according to the promotional terms and conditions. Please check back in 1-2 weeks for updates to your request.
I hope that means they're just waiting for the 30 day return window to close. But the language they use does make it seem like they could reject it for being on SERO.

I paid $450, got the $150 Verizon price match taken off ($300), then also had the $100 mail in rebate applied. I paid $199 for mine. I also got a contract renewal discount for what $70? and $50 friend referral.

:)

Ok, but that has nothing to do with what he asked. Getting the rebate applied by Sprint instead of sending it in for approval isn't the same thing.

Actually yeah on second reading the, "If you have met all of the eligibility criteria documented on your rebate form" makes me nervous. Which rebate form did you use? As well I hope they don't wait until we can no longer return the phone to deny us, sticking us with the extra $100...

Re: SERO 500 users - gotten approved for $100 rebate on TP2 yet?

ok so here is my deal and i cronicled this in another thread ... on this site

i have sero 1250 +60 min free each month... for 2 years now

got the tp2 at reg price with my 150 renew off (got it on 9-10) , i also recieved an email that my rebate was approved already .. (earlier this week)

I also sent an email to cust service regarding the vz price ... i recieved a 1 time "goodwill credit" for 200 .. (email was very nice , not threats to cancel or anything like that , just a plea based on the currect economy and my love for sprint)

final price of 149 after all was said and done (not including the way they f you on shipping and ofcourse taxes)...

worked out very well for me ... thank goodness

You used the EPRP form right?

Use the EPRP form. I did this for the LG Lotus recently. I did the same for my TP2 and the email I got and posted above is the same I got last time. All is normal. I don't see why it isn't going to work.

Just in case any of you guys are still paranoid about getting the rebate, Sprintrebates.com just updated for me:

$30 SERO, TP2. Looks like the wait was indeed to confirm that I was keeping the phone past the 30-day mark.

Good news- I bought my TP2 the first day it was available through telesales for use on my SERO 500 plan- I used the standard rebate form (it didn't even have the TP2 on it yet) and today I checked the status:
It lists the amount as $100 and then states:
"Your rebate is approved and is in the final stages of processing and should be mailed to you within the next 30 days. Thank you"

Yeah I'm not sure the forms make a difference. All they probably look at is the offer number which is the same (09-91661).

I got my touch pro 2 without renewing with a 2-year contract.. My contract is set to expire on 8/2010. Anyone think I still have a shot of getting the rebate or is it pretty much a guarantee that I will get shot down. Thanks

Well turns out I couldn't do it. I called the last day on my 30day and returned it. They said take it to a sprint store, I said send me a return kit, so i could just enjoy it for a couple more days. I have to wait for price to come down, or when they are willing to give me a new customer price.

I have the $30 Sero 500 plan. I just received this update:

Offer: $100.00 Check
Date Received: 09-30-2009
Status Detail: Your rebate is approved and is in the final stages of processing and should be mailed to you within the next 30 days. Thank you

I did use the referal rebate form. I think that is what it was called. Not the normal one from Sprint. My 30 days of activation was the 16th or 17th.
