Is a Screen Protector Necessary?

I had an HTC Vogue/Touch for the last 2 years, and I never really found it necessary to have a screen protector. It has very minor hairline scratches on the screen after 2 years, that you must look extremely close to notice. Nothing major though.

So my question is, is it necessary to use a Screen Protector with the TP2?
How durable is the screen?

Mine already has a scratch, I don't think they are very durable at all.

Absolutely. 1 of the biggest mistakes I made was not buying 1 for my N96. $800 phone shot to hell due to a nice scratch

Well the poll is pretty overwhelming. I guess I'll be getting one. I know this is discussed in other places, but since the subject is going here, is there a screen protector for the Verizon TP2 that anyone would suggest?

On my 2nd TP2. First one had a nice scratch after only a few days of use! But, it also had a broken key on the keyboard and was replaced. When I received my replacement TP2, I left the screen cover that ships with the phone on for a day while I waited for my Zagg skin to arrive. It looks great! Check out http://www.zagg.com/

On my last phone, the HTC Touch (Verizon 6900), I used the screen covers that I purchased in the Verizon store. They lasted months before getting scuffed up and I would just put a new one on. When I would replace it, the screen looked like new!

So...my advice...get something for the screen!
enjoy

Thanks for that link to Zagg. I'll check it out.

About how long do these Zagg ones last? Is it noticeable when on?

I mean, its like $5 to possibly save your phone from who knows what. Well worth it IMO

This is my first Zagg. I got the whole body kit..covers the screen and the sides/back of the TP2. Not sure how long it will last. When the screen is on and I am using the phone I cant tell it is there. Zagg does have nice warranty.

ok, just checked out Zagg, and it's rather expensive...kinda. Is this like a top of the line protector or something?

Are there cheaper alternatives that would be recommended, or would this be the way to go?
