Hard Decision - ATT Tilt 2 vs VZW TP2 - ? timing of HardSPL

I went ahead and purchased a VZW TP2 because my contract was up for ATT but I left the ATT acct open. Now that ATT Tilt 2 is apparently days away do I turn my VZW TP2 back in before my 30 days and get the Tilt 2?

My service at least in my area is about the same for ATT vs VZW

I guess my question is - are we pretty sure t hat the HardSPL is going to happen for the CDMA phone? And will thier be pretty much the same choices for custom ROM's for the CDMA vs the GSM phone??

Any input would be appreciated.

I really cannot believe that it just would be NEVER unlocked. It will, patience.

Other than that, which keyboard layout do you like better? Can you live without the 3.5mm jack? Etc...

The HARD SPL is just about complete. It does work and its going through some final tweaks. It shouldnt be to long now. Personally, i would go with the verizon version. In my opinion, it looks better, and verizon, in my experience, has a better cutsomer service experience.

I would stick with verizon due to the maturity of the network. In my direct area, AT&T is just about as good as verizon until i start to travel. About 20 minutes from my house i still get AT&T signal but the signal is to weak to work indoors. Maybe its just me but i find my verizon phone to work both inside and out of wherever i am.

I'm basically in the same position, but with a sprint tp2. I'm leaning on keeping the sprint phone because it has a SIM slot, and so I'm hoping that if and when the HardSPL comes out, that it will unlock the sprint SIM too. Good thing for you, we know VZW tp2 is compatible with US edge. Right now we're not sure if Sprint tp2 is compatible, but it should be. So, yes, hopefully we get the CDMA HardSPL before my month is over with Sprint.

Wow, you are very over eager arent you. Have you read the post about it? It states that it does work but has to go through some tweaking due to some HTC blocks. Relax and wait patiently!

ATT has 3G in 850MHz and 1900MHz spectrum, they are upgrading to HSDPA which means 7.2Mbps (Peak) in some area; VZW has EVDO Rev-A in same frequency band. both of them coverage is good in US. 3G and 2G voice\Data is covered during international roaming because of both have qualband EDGE and 2100MHz UMTS(3G). so really depends on you budget and plan. hope it's useful!

Yes the hspl is going to happen. its already done as someone posted earlier, they are just making it work with the new radios. The choice for roms will basically be the same. the kitchens for sure will be pretty much the same, so if you create your own roms then you will have the exact same options. Most of the time cooks use whatever phone they use. For instance i have a sprint tp2, any rom i cook will only work on a cdma tp2, this is the same for any cook.
