SPB Backup's Restore not self-extracting on TP2?

When I try clicking on a Backup from Total Commander, I keep getting the message in the photo below. This hasn't been an issue yet, since I can do it from the program, but with previous versions on my Mogul, when they shipped me a replacement phone, I could just insert the card, find the file in File Explorer, and it was self-extracting and made the replacement phone identical to the old phone. I do have the option checked for self-extracting. Does the new version of SPB BAckup not do this the same, or is this an issue with the TP2? Is this related to the certificate issue, and something that can be hacked around?

I'm not sure what your problem is as it works fine in my TP2.

I navigated to an SPB BU file on my 16 gig card two days ago, clicked on it & it restored just fine.......

Come to think of it, one of the first thing I did when I got the phone was run the tweak that gets rid of the permission nags etc.....

I'm pretty sure there is a setting in there to make them self extracting. I wanna say it's an option when you are setting up your scheduled backups, but it may be in the options menu also.

I've seen that around, but can't find it now. Can you look and see what the file name was? That might show up easier in a search.

Thanks

Re: SPB Backup's Restore not self-extracting on TP2?

This is not a permissions issue. I have run into this with my Touch Pro as well. Fortunately, it's not a big deal. When the backup gets "too big", for some reason it can't make the file self restoring. You need to select the SpbBackupRestore (which is right below the backup you selected in your screenshot). After that has launched, you can select the backup you like to restore from...

Re: SPB Backup's Restore not self-extracting on TP2?

I have had SPB give me the "so big we split it up error", but I have never had one refuse to restore by clicking on it (& I had BU files that where 220 megs in my TP at times).

Worst case scenario, you can always hard reset then install SPB & then restore from within the program......
