Does Text Message Custom Ringtones Work?
 

i havent had a chance to test for myself yet but can we make our own ringtones with the included MP3 trimmer and use those ringtones for incoming text/picture messages? or maybe even email notification sounds?

yes .... create the ringtone with mp3 trimmer and copy it from My Ringtones folder to the Windows Folder ... after that you should be able to set your ringtone in the sounds & notifications settings

Awesome! I was wondering how to do this as well. I always thought there was some folder I had to place the ringtone in, didnt even think about the windows folder

That folder didnt work for me,I had to put it in My device > Application data > sounds

I put mines right on the storage card, no folder.

you cannot customize a contacts txt message tone if thats what you are asking.

also you can put the tone in
/my documents
/windows
or even "/" (the root of the device) i think. i dont recall where mp3trimmer puts them when you save them.

mp3trimmer saves them to My Documents/My ringstones ...

actually you can use a custom text message ringtone but not for each contact.


you change the audio to .wav format and then drop into your windows folder... that should work

i never had to convert or change the extension to .wav. i use .mp3's on all my tones and they all work.

Same, Ive actually got both wav and mp3s for text tones
