Re: Should I keep my Tp2 or...
Your post is VERY closed minded
1. You hate Windows Mobile. Why? What features do you like? What features do you not like? Give details! There are a lot of cabs and other modifications here that can probably solve your troubles. 2. You're right, totally right. Windows Mobile is not an Iphone. Mostly because an Iphone is an unproductive piece of dung. Windows Mobile is multi-tasking and multi-purpose software. Theres no other mobile OS that lets you slipshod your way through certain methods by running several applications at once. It supports tons of software, has a wide array of options, and STOP calling Microsoft's UI stinky. It was the first one on the block and hasn't changed because thats the business design and style. If you don't like it, I'm pretty sure you shouldnt blame Microsoft for making their UI look like their intended customers 3. The Verizon TP2 doesnt run 6.5, it runs 6.1. you're looking at TF3D most likely, since little of old WinMo 6.1 is visible on the TP2 4. Don't read into the idiots of CNET, Leo laporte, and the etc. who all bash Windows Mobile. The only reason they are here is because of Windows Mobile. Palm got started, windows mobile ate it ALIVE because it was years ahead of their 16 bit screen graphics. It gave the power everyone wanted. Windows CE is the basis today for millions of computers, systems, and most importantly, Windows Mobile. Android, you love it more than the windows mobile but havnt even tried it? It's linux! Go boot up Debian and tell me if you miss your games. 5. Lastly, Don't do this "OS is Better" because this and that what-not. Android is a dev. OS, like Google's idea of linux for the PPC. Iphone OS is just tits and *** ( seriously, all it can do is run 1 app at a time. No stylus, games, no real dev apps that are FREE. WHAT A WASTE!) If you want to run around showing your IPhone in the face of people, on a garbage carrier and with a garbage OS. Go right ahead, but if that Iphone comes in my face i'll assure you my fist will break the glass. .../endrant |

And I have to ask with all your hate of the iphone have you ever used one? the UI is pretty nice and the media player is better then ANYTHING iv seen for windows mobile. If you know of a better media player (video and audio) please let me know. Oh yeah dont forget about safari which except for no flash is (again) IMO better then opera mobile. |
Re: Should I keep my Tp2 or...
The Iphone is not a productivity phone, its a unproductive phone. That's my case and point.

Re: Should I keep my Tp2 or...
I agree, and ive had an iphone in the past. its a toy...if you like it so much better in comparison to WM then go get an iphone. As far as android goes ive only played with them for short periods of time but really was not impressed and the fact now that google is sending out C&D's on cooked roms is enough in itself to make me stick with WM

Re: Should I keep my Tp2 or...
Just a quick question. If you wanted a "toy" why did you go out and buy a BUSINESS phone? You would be better off with Palm os or Samsung GUI. The TOUCH PRO and TOUCH PRO 2 are windows PROFESSIONAL phones, and right now the TP2 is the FLAGSHIP of MS mobile right now. Thats like saying I want to go and get a BENTLEY to go 4 wheeling with. You need to get a jeep, lol.

Re: Should I keep my Tp2 or...
this is true, though i did not get my TP2 for business at all. i know the nature of the beast and what i was getting into with WM but the hardware really appealed to me and i like WM for a casual phone even...maybe its because of the selection of 3rd party software but there is alot you can do with it. If i want to browse the web NICELY i can...if i want to not only play music but stream it and not only stream a channel but stream a specific song i want to hear i can. hell even if i want to remote into my home computer and check my torrents or add more i can do that aswell..the TP2 performs well no matter what you seek in it, IMHO

Re: Should I keep my Tp2 or...
indeed this phone can appeal to many different types of user, but in each of those categories i think its the hardcore, hardcore business...hardcore modder....phone efficianado who loves to hook up their phones and be able to do everything possibly imaginable with it and isnt impatient. WE dont care if it takes us a week to get the damn thing exactly how we want it. WE're not iphone users that just want to press one button and it HAS to work and is too lazy to even jailbreak LMAO

I have both the Touch pro2 and an Iphone 3gs. this what i like about the Iphone. 1. large screen. very responsive with zero lag when surfing the web. 2. quick and simple installation of sofeware through itunes. or the apps store. 3. ample storage space. 4. easy transfer of movies. 5. connect the phone to my car cable and watch my movies without any cab install or registry edit. 6. large on screen keyboard with very nice auto correct, almost error free. 7. thin enough for any pocket. 9. price 299.99 for 32gs and 32gig storage. what I dont like about the iphone. 1. higher cost for ATT data plan. 2. .......... 3. .......... what I like about the TP2 1. large screen 2. large keyboard 3. better then tp1 3. able to consistently write roms and change themes. 4. ...... what I dont like? 1. slight delay as you're dialing phone numbers 2. slightly bulky then the iphone. 3. you have to buy additional storage. 4. web surfing too slow for me when scroling. 5. cost more then iphone or any other phone out there. so which phone do you think I like? I will tell you this, like you I consider carrier and price plan over phone. so most likely I will try out the HTC hero for a possible replacement for the TP2 and iphone. I still own and window mobile phone, so please do not ban me. lol so I guess if you have the time to write roms weekly/monthly and reinstall your software and settings, spend time editing, tweeking registry to make the phone just right for you. the TP2 is for you. I truly enjoy custom roms, but there are times I just want to me a call and surf the net effortlessly. |
