Well since the actual zoom bar is part of the resistive touch screen I am looking forward to some mods that will allow the bottom part of the screen to have labels that can be assigned to certain points on the zoom bar.

I think it would be much more useful as a "launcher" than a zoom bar.

It's more of a slide action, not a tap. In some programs, like Opera, you tap and slide and the screen magnifies or shrinks as you slide. In others, like Messaging, and specifically when you are reading or composing, a single tap/slide will zoom in or out one level. Then a second tap/slide action will zoom in or out another level, and so on.

On a totally different note, anybody else notice a pattern in this thread...I'm worried it's gonna get shutdown when I read:

I think the saleman meant you could use the zoom bar as a measuring tool! It has 1/8" markers and everything.

naw thats too big! but ya i 611'ed mine, we all know they dont exist in VZW stores

I hate the Zoom Bars they are a waste of space on the TP2. it doesn't work with all apps, and personally i have no use of it.... the TP2 should have added a scrolling ball similar like what the Hero has....
