FYI...

I had this working perfectly under WM6.1/Sense2.1. Received a refurbished phone with WM6.5/Sense2.1 and TTS stopped working! Just today, I flashed to WM6.5/Sense2.5. Now, TTS is working perfectly again.

Go figure...

The tts files I use are the ones attached to this package:

..and this one for UK voices:

Hi, Can you reupload as links are down Tnx

Just installed UK TTS voices (Kate & Simon). Works great!
For those searching for voices, look to the USENET.

Now to install the 2009 Q4 maps...

Are any 2010 maps out yet?

FYI... If it hasn't been mentioned before, this program uses only about 30MB of ram to operate. I have 83MB free before launching and 52MB free while in use.

Another FYI... Overclocking this device makes iGo much more responsive. No more "lag". Check out the overclocking thread. It's easy!

Any ideas on why I can't get the voice to come over my bluetooth headset? I can make calls over it, but iGO8 always goes out the speaker phone.

thanks,
dave

There are no 2010 Maps for North America yet, only Europe.

Do any of your standard Windows "system" sound come through your bluetooth headset? Is your headset stereo/A2DP capable?

Just tried it with mine (Voyager 855) and everything (iGo, that is) comes through the headset. I just flashed a new ROM a week or so back and haven't installed any audio tweaks, so everything is basically stock (except the over-clocked CPU:mrgreen:).

As an FYI...

Just can't overstate how much of an improvement you will realize if you OC your device. Bluetooth directions used to lag a bit. The voice would already be speaking before the headset would pick it up and the first second of voice directions would be lost.

Now, everything is "perfect". No lag when using bluetooth at all! The software loads much more quickly.

The TP2 is now the perfect GPS platform for NavNGo iGo8 (My Way). Having the ability to find a POI on the map, bringing up details of the POI, and being able to call them from the GPS software makes this a great package.

My configuration:

iGo8 8.3.4.102680 (PDA) WVGA
TTS Voices: US Susan & Dave, UK Kate & Simon
Maps: NAVTEQ 2009 Q4

You overclock your TP2? Doesnt that make the device warm all the time?

==========

Anyone try this latest version: Nav N Go iGO 8 v8.3.2.152657 (Jul 21 2010) - R3 PDA update version
