Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)

Here's a new issue for you. I want to edit the English6.9.lex dictionary.
I want to change it so that when the map says "S Main St" to read the "S" as South....or if it says Route 66 SB....to read Route 66 SouthBound.
I have tried a variety of text editors, and even downloaded the Loquendo SDK....Unfortunately, the only voices it has in the SDK is Italian.

Do you know how I can make changes like that. From what I understand, all I have to do is to make "SB=South Bound", or NB= North Bound.

If my syntax is incorrect, please correct...but the bigger problem is I can't find anything to edit the dictionary.

Can I add those statements to the sys.txt file?

Thanks for your help
Bob

PS: I have no issues at all running IGO8 on my Verizon TP2., although I am using vers 8.3.2.93112 (June 8, 2009). I'm not sure what improvements your newer versions has.

no need for me. But I did delete the "save" dir in iGo root dir.

I too donwloaded the 800x480 file and deleted my save directory and rebooted and my skin selection is still greyed out. Any other ideas?

Yes, the skin only works on landscape mode, not portrait mode, so you will need to follow the instruction to open iGO8 on landscape mode (The iGO will restart when you change the screen orientation from the setting menu). After it restarts then you will be able to change the screen (it won't be greyed out).

Re: How to get iGo8 run on TP2 with TTS enable and 2009 NA Maps (step by step guide)

i can't even go the program to boot. I've used iGO8 before in the past w/ my TP1. I've followed step by step those instructions (had to use voice and lang files from my old iGO8, since the iGO8 only had the dem, building, map, and poi folders). I run iGO8.exe from explorer and my screen goes blank and stays that way (waited 10 minutes)with the sys.txt from the first post. If I use the original sys.txt that came with the iGO8, it shows the splash screen, but then goes away. I did receive a crash text file. Here's what it looks like. Oh, this is when I use it with the original sys.txt, the modified one from the first post doesn't give me anything, jus stays blank.

i have done that about 4 times now... very frustrating. from my logs it seems that i am missing an igo8.map file from the root directory, does that file exist in your root folder?

that's the exact problem that i had. i think i did end up actually re-downloading the who igo program, then copying all the new stuff over.
