I am running WM6.5 on a verizon package and since I have installed the proper tweaks package I constantly have an indicator that I have a new text message. The only time it goes away is when I delete all the texts and then as soon as I get a new text it says 2, even thought it is only one, anyone else having an issue with this?

I deleted the tweaks package from here and it didn't change.

The other problem that I have is when I go into the Power and Backlight settings that was added from this tweak, closing it completely freezes the phone up the only way I can get out of it is to remove the battery. anyone else?

never had the text message issue but i had the power and backlight issue all the time i just avoid going there but sometimes when i did it barely got me out without freezing.. but im on the sprint cleanup

Hello all, newbie and this is my first post on this site.

First, thanks Gt2l for your hard work, well done.
I have a vzw tp2 stock 6.5 rom and I am enjoying your tweeks. I am just confirming that I also have an issue with my alarms and when I tap the batery icon on the home screen it does not work. when i go to battery settings it also does not show battery percentage. I have never installed any battery cabs.

Anyone know if these tweaks would have any adverse effect on SPB Mobile Shell?
Unlike GT2L, I'm still using the shell...

The tweaks look like they are a great improvement to the stock ROM... (I'm on Verizon with stock 6.5).

mobile shell works fine running on stock rom 6.5 using one of his cleanup/tweaks. i haven't experience any major issues w/ shell besides not able to access the owner information section in shell to install your 3rd party apps which is one of the flaws in using stock rom 6.5. as for the sleep mode issue THAT still remains on both SenseUI and on Mobile Shell so there is no way to avoid it without some sort of hotfix from Sprint. Even if you start off your phone "naked" (w/o cabs installed) that issue is still there. the rom itself is just one big bug for sprint to fix but sprint rather upgrading there homesite first before anything else lol.

that's why i decide to revert back to stock rom 6.1 because i had a better experience than stock rom 6.5. been on 6.5 for 3 weeks from the start and i did more hard and soft resets than ever. i was basically killing my phone and most of the reset was due to the sleep mode of death. i use my phone alot for work purposes but that issue was just ridiculous and annoying. I haven't installed it yet... I was holding off for his next update.

The problems you've encountered also have me concerned, though perhaps these too might be addressed in the next version of the tweaks cab?

Anyway, I really like alot of the things that the tweaks cab does. Especially disabling wake-up on keyboard slider. That way the native locker would stop being accidentally unlocked by my case's magnet all the time...

Hmmm.... I never had the "sleep mode of death" issue after the 6.5 update.

But I'm on Verizon, not Sprint...

First off Thanks GT2L for all your hard work. I want to know if anyone else is having a problem with texting. When I reply to a text it automatically goes to a different phone number. I don't know if it has anything to do with the cleanup or if it is something I am not doing. I have to go into menu (when replying) recipient phone number and then choose the correct number. Any help would be greatly apprieciated

There are a lot of changes in your tweaks that I'd like to make, but quite a number of them that I don't want to do as well. Do you have a package, zip file that lists the appropriate registry changes and required files for Sprint 6.5 so I can manually apply only the changes that I want? I've read through this thread and didn't see such a thing. Searching the forms for each one would take weeks, especially when searching both here and XDA.

It's better to apply all the tweaks, and then remove the ones you know you did not want.

That's easier than going about it the other way....

I hope everything is ok with you GT2L. Haven't seen a post from you since this one. Obviously you have a life outside off PPCGeeks so of course take care of whatever you need to, all your work here is appreciated. I just notice it's not like you to drop off like this (I'm impressed with how hard you work on this with out asking for anything in return) & want to make sure you are ok.

Thanks for the advice - the T9 restoration fixed that problem. Though I think I prefer the correction approach, which of course loses the symbols. Is there a workaround to get the symbols to pop up somehow? I don't need them often, but when I need them, I really need them.

I would still prefer to see the edits that are being done. There is a lot to be learned from reading the actual changes over simply clicking on a cab.

I open the cab with winRAR and then examine the XML file. This lists all the registry tweaks which I then apply on my own.

With the 6.1 Sprint cleanup cab, this is what happened to my text messages:

Whenever I received a text and pressed the hard SMS/MMS key (or if I navigated there via touch screen) and moved the highlighted box to select (but not actually click on to open) a new text message, my phone would recharacterize that message as "read" even though I had not physically clicked on the message to read it.

This was perfect.

Now on 6.5 and after the Sprint cleanup cab, I have to physically open up the text message and either reply to the message or use the dpad on the keyboard to move the "mouse" up to the newly received message to make the phone think it has been "read" (which in reality, it has been).

I don't like this.

How can I change the responsiveness of the phone as it used to be in 6.1?

Would it be possible to make the cleanup/tweaks work friendly with Cookie's home tab? I have tons of problems and the Cookie people are telling me it's b/c of the cleanup/tweaks.

Could you expand upon what issues you're having exactly? I am running Cookie's home tab (and its not even latest, I think its 1.6) and the cleanup/tweak cab. I havent had any issues that I noticed.

The only problem Ive had which I think could be related to cleanup/tweal cab is some general SMS text wonkiness. Double blinking input cursor when entering text in landscape with keyboard, some freezing/bugginess when switching back from landscape to regular, etc.

i have the double blinking cursor issue and i only have the cleanup cab..not beta but standard version...thats all i have seen also...

With V1.7.0 the call,windows, and back button and keyboard stop functioning after a while. Also, the backlight settings get messed up I think b/c of nueROM. Sense seems to crash more often as well (although I can't figure out what is causing it).

I was having the same problems with my phone with the cookie mod 1.7.0. However, they just came out with a new update, 1.7.1 update removing some of the features. My phone works a lot smoother now.

I had the MM custom Rom, then I went back to stock, I used that task29 exe to wipe my phone clean, Installed stock 6.5 rom and ran the 6.5 tweaks, and a new clock and I'm good..

I'm running stock Sprint 6.5 and notice that after installing the Clean Up the left soft key on the Home screen is now "lock." I've also install cookie mod and it has a lock key on the Home screen so I would like to change this to "contacts" or if not possible back to "phone" as it was originally. I found a cab on another thread that was supposed to do this but it didn't install.
Is there a cab to do this?
The Clean Up is GREAT!!!!!! Greatly improves the stock rom. With Cookie's mod I am one happy camper. Thank you.

Ok i installed cleanup.cab on first boot off hard reset everything is fine,but in start menu after every soft reset i keep getting the "htc-people,htc-calendar,and htc-music icons" on my start menu,i moved them to a different folder just so they would be visible but now i got duplicates because it made another set on root of start menu? lol yes i have deleted them from windows directory several times.

OK just noticed that its not deleting them instead it says could not delete the files..anyone know why?

Ok they dont appear when i have Htc Sense disabled but once i turn it on they appear in start menu,kinda knew it was sense..i just want them to be gone!

I used that (task29 exe)to wipe my phone clean, Installed stock 6.5 rom and ran the 6.5 tweaks, try that and see how it go's, I have not had any issues at all! I did my first hard reset and then used the cleanup cab, then I wiped the phone again and then used the tweaks cab , and so far, I'm luving the results...

It has been stated more than once in these forums that the cleanup appears to cause more 'breaking' than the tweaks.
Santod - a big help to many of us with his optimization cabs - has also stated the cleanup is problematic.
IME also, I have NOT had any issues applying the tweaks & having it work as advertised.

what has "broken" due to he cleanup? all i use is the cleanup and nothing is "broken". there may be some shortcuts that have been adjusted (using PIE as defaault browser, etc.. ) but broke? naaahh.... :D
