Sprint 30 day return policy?? Beware
Quote:
My take on this is, Sprint figured while I was waiting around for my bogus belief a return kit was coming in the mail my 30 days would come and go and I would be stuck in a 2 year contract and the higher price for the phones. I believe they are telling people a credit is to be posted some days later, only to exceed their 30 days as-well. If they can credit some peoples account immediately they can for all. That's my 2 cents |
Re: Sprint 30 day return policy?? Beware
Why not return to store then?

your dilemma is no mean a trend or conspiracy that multi-billion dollar company want to waste time on. you can't just claim that the whole company is bad just because there are one or two bad incidents. one or two employees can have a bad day and make mistakes but that does not mean the company is bad. You can't never make everyone happy. |

My only leverage right now is to return the Phones under the 30 days, cancel my service and open a business account with Sprint, then get the phones at $199.00 Such a waste for Sprint to do it this way, they are aware to what I am doing, but they think I'm waiting for my bogus return kit and I will bust my 30 day return privilege. I have tried calling different numbers there but somehow keep getting the same group of idiots |

Re: Sprint 30 day return policy?? Beware
I suggest always waiting on the phone with the rep until the email comes through, also get names and ID's, etc.
Also, try to use proper annunciation avoid using slang terms. Speak like a businessman, calm, deliberative, and with proper English (even if they don't). Don't get too angry, it will get noted and screw you on future calls (it sometimes takes multiple calls to get your point across). Don't swear, even as you are hanging up on Sprint. Be a person of class, not crass. I could go on, but those that get it, get it, and those that don't, think they're "normal". We don't all live in the same world, unfortunately. Some amongst us will need some jail time to learn not to steal, lie to insurance companies, etc. Just be glad I'm not in charge, I favor the "feet first through a tree chipper" solution for theives, whether it be software, phones, money, or anything else. |
Re: Sprint 30 day return policy?? Beware
Actually as a business owner, I feel it only takes one employee to ruin the image of an entire corporation. People should not be employed if they cant do they're jobs. Part of that reps job is to transfer to the correct department to send the return kit. Although I also believe in accountability. Thats why I ordered my return kit the day I got the phone.. Just in case.Sprint has a proven track record of being sneaky like that.. I might mention it did take 2 weeks for the kit to come. So that kinda proves the OP claims.

Re: Sprint 30 day return policy?? Beware
I was told originally that I would get the $150 credit when it was proven VZW's phone was $150 cheaper. I had to call a couple of times but did end up getting it. I ended up speaking to retentions a couple of times and was informed by each of the people I spoke with that they are only allowed to credit an account $100 per person so the rep had to have their manager add the additional $50 but this literally took minutes. And the confirmation e-mail came through when I was still on the phone with them. Have you tried retentions? And I completely agree with the earlier posts, speak clearly, don't raise your voice, no swearing, etc. I've worked in CS for years and like my grandmother used to tell me, you catch more flies with honey than vinegar... Be nice and even if you don't hear what you want to hear, kindly ask to speak with the manager. I find rententions the best way of dealing with them, but don't tell them you're then going to sign up w/ a business plan, tell them you'll go to Verizon as their plans are getting more and more competitive w/ Sprints, which they truly are. But I've found, even having both Sprint and VZW, that Sprint's CS is far and beyond better than VZW any day of the week, IMHO!! Good luck!!

I had had both Sprint (never again) & Verizon, Verizon's CS is 1000 times better than Sprint's ever thought of being IMHO. (to start with, VZ reps all speak English) ~John |
Re: Sprint 30 day return policy?? Beware
In my case I had to call a few times too. I called once a few days after purchasing my phone and was denied the $199 price match. This was about a week before Mayonesa's thread came into existence. What retentions DID do was give me a $50 credit and their "pick 3 landlines" offer.
The day this thread was created I called back Sprint and asked for the price match and was denied. I then contacted them through the online chat and was told I WOULD receive it if I called back. Then I called CS again and they denied me. LOL They transferred me to retentions and the guy took about five minutes to review my case notes. Then came back and said I'd have the match in 72 hours - no questions asked. Well, this was on 9/29. This morning I called back and got retentions on the line to verify it. They told me that the credit had passed through their auditing department and went all the way up to VP level before it was approved - but - it IS approved and will appear on my account on Monday. They are sending me an email to verify it. Perseverance goes a long way with Sprint. In the end I got $200 knocked off the price. I don't agree that they make people jump through hoops to get decent offers. The end result is satisfactory though. |

"Ebonics is a term that was originally intended and sometimes used for the language of all people of African ancestry, or for that of Black North American people; since 1996 it has been largely used to refer to African American Vernacular English (distinctively nonstandard Black United States English), asserting the independence of this from (standard) English. The term became widely known in the U.S. in 1996 due to a controversy over its use by the Oakland School Board." |

Re: Sprint 30 day return policy?? Beware
<-----On to the topic at hand. I like Verizon CS, but Sprint CS was the same for me. Both were pretty nice to me when it came to replacing a device or exchanging one. Or just giving me a credit towards my bill.

Re: Sprint 30 day return policy?? Beware
Just call retentions and tell them you want a return kit and to note your account and all is well.Have them note the account.
|
Re: Sprint 30 day return policy?? Beware
This may not be as simple as "Sprint is lying to people." In some cases the credits offered by Retentions have to gain approval by their auditing department before they can be issued. That was the case for me and resulted in a five day delay before the credit will be posted to my account.

Re: Sprint 30 day return policy?? Beware
You ALWAYS get them to note your account.I never ever hang up without them doing ti and also if they e-mail you save the e-mail.

Get online and chat with a rep about the whole sending of a return kit ask the rep to add to the notes on your account that your waiting for the kit and will be using the phone until it arrives wether its within the 30 days or if it takes them longer. This way here you get a TRANSCRIPT of your convo with the rep online CANT LIE AFTER THAT and your covering your *** if the phone makes it back late |
Re: Sprint 30 day return policy?? Beware
I think to make sure nothing like that happens again, the advice given before is probably the best solution. Stay on the phone with them, until you receive the email and then save it. Nothing can be better proof than that.

This problem exsists in all companys, enough said. They want your money and you gotta be smart enough to protect it

Re: Sprint 30 day return policy?? Beware
the problem is call center reps are rated by how quickly they resolve calls, and signups vs cancel,
I think the problem is the system does not track the call to the rep, so reps know they can feed bull or xfer to never-land and just not note the account. also a problem with sprint is the whole which store can do what crap. if it's got a big yellow sprint sign, I see no reason why they shouldn't be able to help. documentation, documentation, documentation. btw, is all this hastle really worth the $150? I could only imagine if cell phones were more like cars. insurance guy would say. oh, your phone's not worth 500 anymore, here's a check for 250. lol. |

Re: Sprint 30 day return policy?? Beware
Well in my case I have had my run ins with retention and they were for the most part decent. I got my TP2 for 199 that was with price matching from Ver and a 100.00 mail in rebate and I have a 150 contract renewal. I havent recieved the phone yet but I did get the emails from them. Well see I guess.
