:( Thanks again though.

Anyways, if I remove my screen protector... could this be the solution?

is it a thin one or a thick protector?" Thin ones should not affect it. The prox sensor requires your face to be almost touching the screen though

I'm not familiar with skype but does skype use the dialer that comes with the phone or does it use its own dialer. If it uses its own dialer I would assume thats the reason. The sensor will only kick on when using any of the regular dialers.

- The screen protector that's on it is the one that came with the T-mobile package.

- And ya, thanks a lot, P-slim, I didn't know that you have to use the dialer that came with the phone for it to be activated... it's coz I saw demos on you tube with a guy putting his finger on the sensor while the phone is on the table.

No problem. when i'm on a regular screen or program and i put my phone to my face it will not turn off. Thats means the video you saw, he must have been on a call but he wasn't on the dialer screen.

I've looked through the registry & found a lot of cool information, but nothing relating to the proximity sensor. Of course they could have called it anything

Under HKLM/Software/HTC/proximity, there are options.

Interesting, the three entries there all have a value of zero. My sprint TP2 seems to turn off when I'm on a call, but sporadically. I have a mirrored screen protector on, maybe that's why it only works half the time...

my sprint tp2 works perfectly and is extremely sensitive. by me putting it to my face it will turn off instantly if i'm on a call, the reason yours only works sometimes must be your screen protector.

I think you're right. Question, when you pull the phone away from your face, does it wake up to the home screen or back to phone? And do you use a screen protector?

*EDIT: Waddyaknow? I peeled off the mirrored screen protector (what a waste of $10, makes the screen impossible to see in sunlight and busts the proximity sensor) and voila, sensor works beautifully, and so far I haven't had the screen wake up to home instead of phone while on a call.
