Re: First Touch Pro2 on MetroPCS!

Finally got an appointment to come in with my TP2 (Sprint) at the local MetroPCS auth. dealer. I make an appointment so that I can have their Houdini machine to myself for a bit. The first attempt failed: system did not recognize the device at all. Second attempt insisted I install drivers despite that this is the same machine that I flashed my TP1 on and I personally loaded those drivers. Anyway, after installing the drivers, the Houdini *did* see a new com port (Com 54, WTF?), but still stated it could not recognize the phone. At that point I decided to try manual selection: com 54 and the XV6875 (yes, that's Verizon, but it was the only model number I could remember). The phone then flashed without further incident.

Upon completion I got Internet setup without trouble and it worked fine. Then, I flashed the Leo version of EnergyROM and ran into a really weird problem: internet wouldn't work in Opera...but worked fine in Internet Explorer. Message kept coming back "remote server has refused the request." I confirmed the internet settings (especially the proxy setup) several times, but it wouldn't go away. Finally installed the Manilla 2.1 MightyROM, and now Opera is working fine. Unknown if this problem can be replicated on other systems.

Also, despite killing CM_Guardian in the Sprint ROM, the damned thing keeps coming back. I followed the instructions to the letter, but each new ROM requires me to stop the process and kill the reg entries again: any way to be rid of that nightmare permanently?

Thanks to all involved in the creation of the instructions.

How did you try to kill the CM Guardian?

I used this and it stays disabled.

sigh. somethings not right - houdini cleared it, account payed for etc, but for some damn reason i still cant make calls. it gave me a vzw prl, originally... going to try to dump some prl's in and see if that helps ~_~; i had swapped it for the 02003 mpcs - was the 01003 or something vzw - off to search

You can try this. I found it somewhere.

I used exactly what you linked to. I followed every step of the how-to in order and to the letter. I could see the blasted file resurrecting itself when I had to re-flash the stock ROM, but how the hell could it come back on a custom ROM? Note that this came back on both MightyROM and Energyrom Leo.

Exactly...I stopped the service and then deleted all registry keys. It comes back when I re-flash the system: weird as hell. I'm gonna toss NRG's manilla 2.1 ROM back on (love Manilla 2.5, but I don't think it's ready for prime time)..I'll confirm CM_Guardian still dead prior to the flash and see what happens.

Re: First Touch Pro2 on MetroPCS!

I wana report I am having the same problems. I went to my buddy's metropcs store, ran dmrouter.exe with uOpen with "/DIAG" command, and then plugged the usb cable in, and at first houdini couldn't find the vzw tp2. then we manually searched every com until we found it, com127.

metroflashed fine and successful, phone worked great, but the metropcs internet connection setting wouldn't stay on metropcs. so when I got home, I did a hard reset, and now VZW settings come back. the SID is back to verizon, as well as the prl. changing the SID settting back to metro and updating the prl doesn't help anymore. phone won't call out anymore, and I get a recording, but I still get metropcs when I dial *228 or 611.

I could get it re-metroflashed, but this seems like it'd be a royal pain in the arse to have to do it everytime after flashing to a new rom or doing a hard reset.

I emailed cmonex about the problem, hoping to get some answers.

Re: MetroPCS Internet Connection Settings

I will describe how I disabled the sprint connection setting when I had my metroflashed sprint diamond. what I did, was use a registry editor and I disabled the sprint connection. that will allow you to use the metropcs connection installed by ryan mogul's metropcs cab. look under...

hklm>comm>connmgr>

sorry, I forgot what is after that, I think >destinations or possbly >connections....
anyways, it will be clear to you once you drill down into the folders. it will say sprint, and one field allows to you enable or disable it, by changing the value to 0 or 1. just disable it by changing that value, and it will not default over to the sprint setting.

btw, the sprint problem went away after I flashed to energy rom.

as for the VZW TP2, I am still having problems with the internet connection going to default no matter what rom I flash, it won't stay on ryan mogul's metro cab.

I had a customers phone for a while and it was doing the same thing. I was using Mighty rom and it would just keep going to the ISP network tab instead of what I created. I cant seem to find what else to deactivate or delete.

Did that one cab file work for anyone to stop the Sprint stuff from going back?
