My brother was sent two phones only charged for 1.
 

As title reads my brother was sent two TP2's from Sprint and was only charged on his bill for one. He's debating trying to sell the other one. My question is would there be any problems for whoever buys it as far as activation? I told him it's probably not a good idea he should send it back but he's pretty set on selling it and I don't want it to come back and bite him in the a**.

It's been AGES since I've had Sprint, but when VZW sends you a phone under contract, the ESN is locked until you agree to the two year terms and conditions. If you don't agree within 30 days, the phone remains locked and you're billed full retail. YMMV with Sprint.

Tell him to wait before doing anything. Wait at least a while. My friend got 6 phones when he ordered 3 once but he was only charged 3 and the other 3 Treos are somewhere in his basement. He's never tried to sell them or use them but I think they should be okay.

I would hold on them foe atleast 2-3 months before I do anything, just to be sure

He can sell it. As long as he's been charged already and it was only for one phone he should be fine. When the original Sprint Touch came out I called and ordered one thru retentions and they sent me 2 on accident. They charged me on the phone when I put the order in so I was only charged for one phone. I then sold the extra phone to my buddy the next day and he activated it just fine. I ended up getting the money back that I paid for my Touch plus I sold my Treo 700w and came out on top $150.

This has been happening A LOT. There is another thread on here where the guy actually calls sprint and tells them of the free phone and he was still able to activate the phone. You might want to follow up on that thread. I wonder if this is why Sprint is facing chapter 11.

Or, one could always go the honest route and let Sprint know of the foul up. There used to be an old adage "honesty is the best policy". I wonder if it still applies in our day and age?

I think returning the phone or telling them would be best. Offer buying the phone at a deeply discounted price and either sell it or put it on your account. But I'm a sucker.... I'd just feel bad if I didn't.
