TP 2 Unlocked?

I was just wondering how many people have gottent their TP2's already unlocked? I am with sprint and actually in training to do Tech Support for the business side of their wireless. We were having a discussion on GSM/CDMA and since the TP2 is a Worldphone (the actual term slips my mind) it can be used internationally on GSM networks. I actually looked in my phone settings and it was unlocked already.
Has everyone received their TP2's unlocked?

No one has yet. No HSPL, read in the TP2 forums for updates.

Come on now, everyones phone will say the same thing, its unlocked right now for use internationally. This topic has been talked about in several threads

Let me recap it for you:

Sprint's version IS SIM unlocked, EXCEPT... for US-based GSM towers. What does that mean? As long as you are in the STates, or the SIM card you put in there (home service or roaming), goes onto any US-based GSM networks such as AT&T or T-Mobile, the phone will refuse to register and say no service.

On the other hand, VZW and Telus are not on the same boat. Although you need to obtain an unlock (subsidy) code from the providers or 3rd parties.

So... until HardSPL comes out or someone figures it out, we can't do pretty much a thing about it.

Thank you... for enlightening me. I had no idea.. and wasn't really looking for a way to unlock it. That's why I hadn't really searched for any information on the specifics and didn't know.

Its not that I catch every post but before you create a thread its simply a good idea to just search a little and this is one of these things that has been mentioned quite a few times, so sorry if I came across a little rude.

I SIM Unlocked mine fine - it works well on T-Mobile and AT&T (No 3G). I'll try international when I travel to Greece next week.

You are using the verizon version which is fine just like the telus version but with sprint its going to take a little more work to find a work around.
