Uhhh.. does TP2 work on both GSM and CDMA?

The listing looks like a single phone can be used on both CDMA and GSM networks. I've got the original fragile-as-a-baby Touch Pro and was thinking about upgrading to the TP2. Could I use this on Sprint's CDMA network and then just pop in a SIM card for a GSM network overseas?

I did and the google search results just talk about the FCC clearing the TP2 for both, but I'm not sure if this is actually a reality in production. If it is the TP2 just became one of the ultimate travel phones.

There seems to be three versions of the phone - Sprint, Verizon, and the T7272. If I'm running on Sprint, should I get the T7272 version? The FM radio seems to be intact on the T7272. But another question is if Sprint would cover this version under their accident protection plan. They might, but come replacement time they would just give me Sprint TP2, no?

If you are running sprint then you will obviously get the sprint version:confused: The fm radio does not work on the sprint/verizon version. Also if by some miracle you could get an htc branded tp2 to run on sprint then their protection plan would not be applicable since its not a sprint phone.

If you want a fm radio go T mobile or what ever you asked about overseas and Sprint I gave you two threads. Sprint might get the fm radio latter after a rom update or a hack, or maybe it might not. Use the phone as a fm radio using data and you will not get calls. Maybe by a cheap fm radio.

Getting official specs on this phone is pretty easy considering its been out for a couple of weeks now(sprint version) if you are with sprint. So to answer your question, its intended purpose is for it to be used on sprints network here in the states and gsm for international use.

I've been curious about this as well. I have Sprint myself so I'd obviously be using CDMA here in the states. If I ever needed to roam, I could use the Verizon network. But, does this phone allow you to roam on domestic GSM signals as well? Or does it only activate GSM when you're not in the states anymore? That'd be amazing if you could roam on both signal types!
