On my old Touch when I used predictive text there was an option to automatically leave a space after you select a word as opposed to always having to hit the space bar on the keyboard. Is there a way to do this on the TP2?
When a word pops up, how are you selecting it? Try selecting it by using the space bar and it will put a space after the word. If multiple choices appear, use the hard left / right keys to highlight the word you want, then tap space to insert it. Again, it will insert a space after the word.

EDIT: And if you're not in landscape but using predictive in the SIP, you can always use the large left/right buttons at the bottom of the SIP to highlight your word and then tap space to insert it. Seems like a lot of work in that case though...just to add a space.

Re: Can I get predicive text using the sliding Qwerty keyboard?

The reason it breaks is because of Opera. Opera insists on changing it to "web only" and other adaptive modes depending on where cursor focus is (address bar, text fields, etc).

There's no way to change Opera's behavior (that I've found).

If you can remember to click onto a page rather than the address bar before exiting out of Opera, it won't break the soft keyboard nearly as often. That is, I haven't found any apps that force it to glitch out in that manner. If you're interested in knowing why, it keeps modifying the value of HKLM\Software\Tegic\eT9\IME -- CurrentET9Style to either 1 or 2, and it needs to stay at 0 for the soft keyboard to stay "normal".

However, there is no fix for the broken SYM key on the QWERTY, so if you depend on that, don't install it. I've been looking at all the keyboard layout files though to see if this can't be addressed, but to date, I've never found anything that's effective.

Thanks again, the space bar trick worked perfectly!

No problem. Gotta say though that since I've removed the Classic Word Completion (because of the SYM key issue) and tried the stock predictive....I really really don't like it. I look at my screen after typing a few things and realize a totally different word has been 'predicted'.

I'm back to plain ol' ABC mode and that sucks too because now I've lost capitalized I's in mid-sentence, missing apostrophes (i.e. youll, theyll), and so on. You basically have to input every character and add CAPS where ever needed! I wish somebody knew how to resolve that broken SYM key with the Classic Word Completion installed THat truly was the perfect solution IMHO.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm wondering the same thing as sometimes it doesn't add a space even when I press the spacebar to select the word. It's pretty annoying when you have things like "illbe theresoon" in the middle of your texts.
