Not enough memory to run NFS Undercover

What a disappointing suprise to find that I could install, but not run NFS Undercover on the TP2 when it worked ok on the TP. I'm sure it's all the overhead from TouchFlo clogging things up, but turn it off and you're back to staring a a blank WM 6.1 Today screen. With 6.5 coming out soon, that's probably not going to improve either.

I don't own this game but I generally have 20-30MB more free ram on the TP2 than I ever had on my Touch Pro. Is it specifically giving you a low ram error message?

Might wanna try the cabs posted here;

I have 110MB+ free available at boot after installing those two cabs.

tf3d 2.1 just takes up a ton of memory. Just disable it and you will be able to run the game just fine. Depending on how much system memory is available you will even be able o run it with tf3d enabled

Yes, it's wanting 90 and there's just under 70 free after a soft-reset. I'm running stock, no mods or cabs yet except for amAze GPS app, QuickMenu (which is acting kind of glitchy, but I love that Start-menu enhancement) and S2U2 2.04.

I did try disabling it, and was still short the 90+ it was asking for in the error-dialog.

look for a program called cleanRam and run it before playing nfs. It has nothing to do with the availabilty of ram as I can have 100 free and it wont work. It always works after running that program. Just use it to set level 3.

Wierd. I only had 63mb available and it works fine. Also using stock. Those memory hacks that were linked will help a lot.

I still need to run cleanRam after the memory hacks.....I think the program cleans out some temp and extra stuff that would sit somewhere in memory. It basically cleans everything out like a soft reset without soft reseting.

This memory issue is quite common to NFS on a lot of other devices and this was the suggested way to run it. It has nothing to do with just the TP2 or the amount of memory the device has built in. I have also ran it at 80 free megs before running the memory hacks but like I said, I have gotten the not enough memory error even with 105 free megs at the time. It always runs after using cleanRam....

Here is the link to download....Make sure to set to level 3 cleaning.

HAs any one tried installing the older tf3d? Its not that much different. Dissapointing to hear all these low ram stories.

Multipel memory threads out there.....

This one worked for me.....

HKLM/SOFTWARE/HTC/ResProxy

change ShareMemSize to 0

Thanks to MightyMike

NFS Undercover installs and runs properly after that. BTW soft reset after making the registry change.

From what I have gathered from other members. If you disable TF3D, you should be able to run the game. And someone here made it simpler for you guys too. Install these 2 cabs and you should free up alot more ram. It will disable Push from TF3d but its worth it.
