Is it Just Me Or is The Touch Pro 2 Starting to Remind Some of The HTC PPC 6800

With only a few apps open I tried to launch my camra and I got an out of memory message and could not launch unless I closed some apps!This is something that would always happen with the Mogul from Sprint.This would never happen with the Touch Pro,man I could tax the memory on that thing and never would I get an error message or couldn't open any apps or programs.The only message I would get was storage memory is low.
What gives,is it just me,am I doing something wrong,or is there some sort of of fix for this???????

Using a registry editor;

HKLM\Software\HTC\ResProxy

"ShareMemSize"

Change this value to zero

You will have an abundance of memory and shouldn't run out ever again.

ResProxy is HTC's method of "Pre-Caching" your applications on the phone, therefore loading times are faster when opening, etc. It just allocates a chunk of your memory for this feature. Problem is, after about a day of not soft-resetting your phone, your idling at 90% or so.

Changing it to 0 will set this as DYNAMIC. So instead of a bunch of pre-set apps being precached IMMEDIATELY, it does it dynamically. It will only raise the memory for the apps that you are currently using, etc.

Keep in mind, changing this REG does not affect speed in terms of opening applications,etc. Performance stays identical.

You will not notice IMMEDIATELY that this tweak has worked. You will notice later in the way when you notice your device won't idle higher than 65-70% usage anymore, and won't even get as high as 90% unless your running mad software on it lol.

can you provide a list of the apps that are running while trying to launch the camera...i came across this trying to run sprint nav in the bg then tried launching the camera...even with the resproxy set to 0....

How much memory is Sprint Nav taking up on its own? My assumption is that it's a heavy program, but I wouldn't know since i'm on Telus.

Same thing when I run Igo8. It generally is just a beefy app, so running anything along side with it is useless. Sometimes it closes my msn just to free up memory all by itself.

Keep in mind guys, If you turn off TF3D and soft reset, you'll be at roughly 25% memory usage, so TF3D2 is quite the memory hog in its own.

thanks for the tip mighty seems to be working for me and i can't wait until we get the unlocker so we can get rid of tf3d and free up tons of memory. this device will be soooooo fast then
