Re: Stream Live video from your TP2 to web

That screenshot definitely looks like the older version. They updated a couple weeks ago, went far more touch/finger friendly. The program is optimized for Samsung devices (they get the higher resolution, we don't).

Re: Stream Live video from your TP2 to web

Yeah- I used that with my mogul over a year ago to stream a party for the birth of my friend's baby boy (a bris) to his family on the other side of the country who couldn't come.

He had asked me to set up a webcam so his father could watch, but when I showed up with just my phone, he though I had forgotten.

You should have seen the look on his face when he father called to say he's watching it live... next thing I know, extended family from all over the world are tuning in to my stream. Meanwhile, a professional photographer at the event kept pushing me aside thinking I'm just another dope snapping cell phone pics. I politely explained to the guy that the host's father is watching and I would appreciate it if he stayed out of my way.

LOL... good times.
I haven't really used Qik much since then. Maybe once or twice- not sure if I even have it installed anymore... but good to see it works on the Tpro2 as well as it did back then.

Lol, good story!

I got an e-mail back from Qik (Quick response!). Here is what was said.

Quote:
Hi Paul,
Thanks for your email. You are unable to increase the resolution for the current version. If you hit the second button on the right-hand-side of the app, you should be able to see more options on your left, with the first button being the Qik version you are using. If I'm not wrong, you are using version 0.04.21.

You can visit our blog to find out more about the new UI: http://qik.com/blog/qik-for-windows-...r-performance/

Hi,

I have a Verizon branded Touch Pro 2, and the application runs fine, but the frame rate is horrible. It’s very choppy. How can I increase this? Also, can I increase the resolution from 240x320? Also, how can I tell what version I have? There is no settings button. I have just a few buttons to the sides of the phone.

Thanks,

Paul

Re: Stream Live video from your TP2 to web

Yeah- resolution is the same across devices, plus more res than that would create a bloated stream and use too many resources (remember, Qik is currently letting us get away with this sort of abuse of their servers for FREE... live streaming takes far more of a hit than any other data transfer).

But I'm really surprised more people haven't heard of this one. This an MochaFTP. I need to do a "little known, but incredibly useful apps" post...

Re: Stream Live video from your TP2 to web

This is such a good application! Very nice indeed.
I'm an old school web cam junkie that hasn't been sitting in front of a computer in years like I did back in the day. (I found a little place called "outside").

So, loving it.

I'm beecee on qik, btw.

Re: Stream Live video from your TP2 to web

Im bored so I'll give it a try.....but I'm thinking...what happens to the videos that are streamed through them. Do they keep them and are they now their property?
