yes its active, actually i learned the phone can do that after I saw that option and I tried it right away, but no matter what I have done so far it hasn't responded properly.

I just got a replacement TP2 today and I seem to be having the same speakerphone issues too. The speakerphone won't turn on even when I place it on a flat surface and the mute button does not turn green either

EDIT: It seems that the G-Sensor isn't level even when it's placed on a level surface. Is there a way to "correct" this problem?

On my TP2 the green light lights up if I do not turn on speaker before I put it on the table. If the speaker is already selected the green light doesn't come on.

goto:
- Settings
- All settings
- phone
- Advanced tab (at the bottom scroll the tabs to the right)

there should be a check box that says "Turn speaker o nwhen device is placed face down during a call"

Make sure that its checked...

if it is, uncheck it.. reset your phone..
go back then recheck it... reset your phone and it should be fine..

To add to this, do a calibration on the G-Sensor so that the phone sees the level surface properly. If the phone is not flat and the G-Sensor is off this may cause faulty readings from the phone.

Does anyone know the reg settings, because i am missing the advanced Tab in personal-settings-phone....Weird but yea its not there..It use to be there because i turned off the speakerphone option, but i cant turn it back on because there's no option....Reg edit anyone?

There has to be something wrong with your g sensor. Try recalibrating it and see what happens.

I had this problem when I installed Pocket Shield or certain taskbar mods. I uninstalled them and problem went away.
