agreed. i bought protectors and now i have decided not to use them... this screen is like made out of crystal or something anyway... i doubt you will scratch it up with normal use.. just the falls you need to worry about.

Wow, only $600??
Ill have to totally disagree with you guys. The only logical reason to not want a screen protector on your device would be due to improper application, causing less than perfect transparency. Thats why I give you this guide.
These displays may be crystal, but what will get scratched will be the plastic touchscreen over the display.
Its not the same as having scratches on your car as your paint job isnt vital to the cars operation, although I do care.
You will see these displays do scratch very easily.
It only takes a few minutes to apply a screen protector, so why wouldnt you??

Lets see, a $10 protector to protect a $600 investment seems logical to most people.
Ill take the odds that at least 90% of people here would rather not see an ugly scratch in their display every time they look at it. Good luck trying to sell it too.

i agree to not worry about regular wear n tear, but to be neglegent and not put a screen protector on is crazy, thats the best 10 dollar piece of platic that comes with ya phone....

trust me and follow these instruction in the guide to a t and ya wont be disapointed........ When i take it off my phone looks brand new..... And why not protect the really main part of the phone, the part ya stare at all day, i dont know about you but id be pissed if my screen got a scratch because i didnt put a screen protector on.....

But everyone has there own perogatives, mines keeping this 600 dollar piece of equipment nice........

We dont drive out cars on the outside, but we do look at our screens constantly and thats the main part of the phone....

now put a major scratch on the interior or maybe that nice deck that came with your 16000 car and see how ya feel......

Re: [Guide]Perfect application of screen protectors with pics.

Being a perfectionist as many of you here are, I also wanted a perfect installation of the screen protector and I have a pretty good trick on doing ths WITHOUT using water.
You will need nothing more than some 3M blue painters tape, a microfiber cloth and a clean table!

-Take a few strips of blue painters tape and connect them side-by-side.
-Lay them flat on the table sticky-side-up
-Tape the ends down making yourself a sticky square in the middle
-Ensure your screen is clean and free of any dust (have a microfiber cloth handy in case)
-Gently peel the screen protector back and align on the top of the phone
-Continue applying the screen protector back until it adheres to the phone
-Should you get any dust under it or are not happy with how it looks, peel it off and stick it to the tape to remove the dust particles (just like a lint remover people!)
-Try try again until you get it perfect
-Remeber these are washable and reusable so if all else fails, wash it with soapy water and restart.

-I do not advise using any water directly on your phone as this may cause damage.

Re: [Guide]Perfect application of screen protectors with pics.

I just wanted to say thank you for the steps on the 1st post. I have a VZW tp2 and it did not come with a screen protector. I went to radio shack and bought a pack of 5 that requires you to cut them. The night before (had not seen the post yet) I about lost it and wasted 2 of the 5. I gave up... Later I read the steps on post 1 and thought I will try one more time. After following all of the steps except (the shower and the paper over the sensor) I have a protected screen that looks very good. And this was the first time I have ever tried this.

Thank you again...

Hypnotic, you should add the second (visible) sensor that is on the battery to the writeup. Most people miss that one.
(Awesome writeup btw-did mine the other day & now it looks perfect)

Applied Boxwave using some of the tips here

Thanks for the many tips in this post.

I installed the screen protector from Boxwave for the Sprint TP2.

I used these tips:

installed in steamed room

latex gloves

blew compressed air.

Result was good but I have a couple of small air bubbles, which will probably go away.

I like the boxwave protectors a lot because they apply easily compared to others I've tried and they last. The anti-glare feature is also nice.

Only complaint is that this protector comes with a small hole in the top right I guess for a forward facing second camera which of course the sprint version doesn't have.

I could, but the battery should be out during the application anyways. Glad to hear yours came out well too.

Re: [Guide]Perfect application of screen protectors with pics.

Lol I was not to referring to having the battery in while completing the protector application. I was stating you should add it as a tip to not forget the battery sensor. You might as well take care of that one too while you have the materials out
